About me

Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California. I received my master's from California State University Bakersfield and have been practicing for 9 years. I help adults struggling with anxiety, depression, faith, trauma, burnout, and relationships. Together we will decrease your stress and increase your peace. I am certified in motivational interviewing which is a strength-based practice that allows you to stay the expert in your life. I have additional certification in cognitive behavioral therapy which will allow you to establish problem-solving skills, adapting and adjusting negative thinking habits, and getting back to a daily routine.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we’ll start with introductions, and they explore specific challenge you are facing. Together we will come up with goals that you would like to accomplish during our time together. This information will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. I allow you to vent and provide you a safe place to be yourself without judgement.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

For the past 9 years, I worked with people who are consider very mentally ill. A lot of clients were in and out of jail, abused drugs or experienced delusions and hallucinations. Having treated intense clients, I am able to use my knowledge to help anyone overcome any obstacle. I have seen everything and heard everything. I will treat you as an individual and tailor a specific plan to fit your needs. I will help you create the life you deserve to live.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with adults that feel different and just do not quit understand why. I love working with everyday people who needs help negativing their emotions/ behaviors. Becoming the best version of yourself takes time and empathy from someone who is understanding.

Shanette challenges my perceptions and confronts my habits in a way that is clear and simple to implement. Her feedback is rooted in care, and action, and she always makes me feel like I can handle whatever problem seemed insurmountable at the start of our session. I sought out therapy to find a way to break out of old patterns and become a more self-actualized person, so while she does validate my feelings, I appreciate her teaching me new coping mechanisms even more.

This was a good first session. I appreciated the space to be vulnerable and appreciated being able lay foundation for goals. I am looking forward to my next visit.
