I prioritize services to BIPOC LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples seeking support transforming their relational patterns while deepening understanding of self.

Together we will utilize the power of relationship as a sacred tool, capable of moving us all further away from colonized markers of wellness, and closer to a version of healing rich with compassion, self-confrontation, and reverence for your personal story. Our work together will be rooted in the principles of liberation psychology and harm reduction. My aim is to amplify the innate wisdom existing in you, while guiding you towards a version of wellness that prioritizes curiosity and self-celebration!

First session

Our first session will serve as a space to cultivate safety while increasing understanding of your personal story. This will be a time to move at a collaborative pace that honors the experiences that have brought you here. We'll spend time exploring past narratives, relational habits, and goals for treatment together.

Strengths

My integrative approach allows me to attune to wherever you may be located on your wellness journey. You are a multi-faceted human deserving of care that engages with the nuanced intersections of your identities. My clinical perspective is rooted in liberation psychology with an emphasis on trauma informed somatic practices and relational psychoanalysis. In other words, our work together aims to honor, confront, understand, and care for the whole person that you are. My time in community mental health has informed my clinical insight, granting me the opportunity to prioritize services for folks existing at the intersection of several systemically excluded identities (i.e., clients identifying as HIV+, sex workers, 2LGBTQIA+, non-monogamous, and existing with varying substance use disorders). I offer my services to individuals, couples, and all polyamorous configurations. Ideal clients

My ideal client is an individual or a couple eager to deconstruct outdated narratives, beliefs, and ideals no longer serving their personal expansion. I prioritize my services to folks existing at the intersection of one or more systemically excluded identities, such as, LGBTQIA+, Non-monogomous, and BIPOC folks. Align clients desire to utilize this healing space to shift their relationship to themselves and to their community. This work is not just for individual benefit, it serves as a practice space to confront our relationship to discomfort, conflict resolution, boundary setting, etc. in the hope of creating more resilient community relationships.

Treatment methods

Psychodynamic

My integrative approach has been informed by years of psychodynamic training, with emphasis on Liberation Psychology, Somatic Therapy and Internal Family Systems. Psychodynamic therapy allows us to build curiosity for the past experiences and cultural considerations that have contributed to your present nervous system. This treatment modality offers utilizes assessment, cognitive meaning making, and exploration of family structure, and community structure to build a treatment plan that honors your complexity.

Somatic

Somatic therapy helps us build a language around the sensations in your body to better understand what these sensations are communicating to you about your life experiences and about your relationship to your environment (i.e. What does betrayal feel like in your body? Where does disappointment live in your physical form?). Internal Family Systems helps us build a deeper understanding of the various protective parts of the self that have been successful at keeping you safe. Combined, these two treatment modalities allow us to understand how you've adapted to engage with complex emotions, and what protective actions have followed. All of this sensory and cognitive information allows us to compassionately move towards new skills for working with complex emotions in your life and new empowered ways of relating to yourself.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I utilize Internal Family Systems along with somatic treatment modalities to get familiar with the versions of yourself that are present in times of heightened emotional activation. Which version of you arises when you're overwhelmed, stressed, unsafe, or feeling defensive? Which version of you arises when you feel dismissed, betrayed, or disappointed? Which version of you has never felt safe enough to take up space or to be witnessed? What signals does your body offer in these moments when complex emotions present themselves?
