Being a therapist is a lifelong passion for me and is rooted in my dedication to supporting adults, children, families, and communities in building safety, resilience, and hope. My journey has taken me from my home county of Santa Cruz where I advocated and ran groups for youth living in situations including domestic violence from 2011-2013, to working as a shelter counselor in Oakland for youth 13-21 from 2016-2018. I worked in serving famillies with San Francisco Child and Family Services, where I partnered with families navigating reunification with their children while providing psychoeducation and crisis counseling during critical moments from 2018-2022. I have been licensed with my LCSW since May 2025 and focused my prior professional development around harm reduction and culturally focused treatment, aligning with my commitment to social justice and culturally responsive care.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in helping women navigate anxiety, overwhelm, and the emotional challenges that come with different stages of life. For more than 20 years, I have worked with women and families in medical and maternal health settings, including OB/GYN practices and postpartum programs. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the pressures many women carry while balancing relationships, parenting, work, and caregiving responsibilities. Many of the women I work with appear capable and “together” on the outside but feel stressed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted internally. They often feel responsible for keeping everything running smoothly for their families while quietly managing their own worries, self-doubt, or sense of overwhelm. In therapy, I offer a warm and supportive space where you can slow down and talk openly about what you’re experiencing. Together we explore the patterns contributing to stress or anxiety and develop practical tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and balanced in your daily life.

Hello, I’m Kim Paylor, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), school counselor, and clinical supervisor with a diverse background in mental health, education, case management, and student support services. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with children, teens, adults, veterans, families, and young adults across school, community, and clinical settings. My experience includes working as a school counselor, special education resource teacher, therapist in private practice and telehealth settings, and clinical case manager within the HUD-VASH program supporting veterans. Prior to entering the mental health field, I also spent many years working in customer service, payroll, human resources, and university settings, which has given me a strong understanding of life stressors, workplace challenges, relationships, parenting, and major life transitions. I bring warmth, compassion, authenticity, and real-world understanding into the counseling relationship. I specialize in anxiety, emotional wellness, trauma-informed care, self-esteem, stress management, and helping clients develop healthier coping skills, emotional resilience, and greater confidence in themselves and their lives. My strongest area of focus is supporting adolescents, teens, and adults between the ages of 11–45. My therapeutic style is highly person-centered, supportive, and collaborative. While I use evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care, I strive to create a counseling experience that feels approachable, practical, empowering, and genuinely supportive rather than overly clinical or judgmental. I believe therapy works best when clients feel truly heard, valued, and comfortable being themselves. I often incorporate guidance, emotional support, skill-building, and strengths-based strategies to help clients not only process challenges, but also build confidence, self-awareness, resilience, and practical tools they can apply in everyday life. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel supported, empowered, and encouraged as they work toward healing, balance, and meaningful change.

I’m a trauma-informed therapist who helps adults heal from anxiety, trauma, burnout, and painful relationship patterns using EMDR therapy and a mind-body approach. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck in cycles of self-doubt, overwhelm, or disconnection, appearing “fine” on the outside while feeling anything but on the inside. My goal is to create a safe, grounding space where you can explore what’s beneath the surface, release what’s been weighing you down, and reconnect with the most authentic version of yourself. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is at the heart of my work. It’s an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity. Through gentle bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping), the mind can integrate painful experiences in a more adaptive way. Clients often describe EMDR as life-changing- it allows healing to occur on a deeper, neurological level, often when talk therapy alone hasn’t been enough. My style is collaborative, intuitive, and compassionate. I’ll meet you exactly where you are, while gently challenging patterns that no longer serve you. Together, we’ll help you feel safe in your body, clear in your mind, and at peace within yourself.

Welcome! I’m Niekachi Nwogu, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #85265) based in California. I provide compassionate, culturally responsive mental health services to individuals navigating a range of life experiences and transitions. With over a decade of clinical experience, I have worked across diverse settings, including schools, crisis intervention programs, high-acuity treatment centers, and leadership roles. My clinical approach is grounded in empathy, cultural humility, and person-centered care, and I integrate evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and other interventions tailored to each client’s needs and goals. A core focus of my work is supporting individuals within diaspora communities. As a second-generation immigrant, I understand the emotional complexity of navigating life between cultures, including identity development, acculturation stress, intergenerational dynamics, and feelings of isolation or disconnection. I am deeply committed to providing a space where these experiences can be explored with understanding, validation, and care. I also specialize in supporting adults through life transitions and stressors, such as starting or changing careers, academic pressures, relocation, family challenges, loss, and increased responsibilities. I work with clients who may feel overwhelmed by change, uncertainty, or competing demands, and who are seeking greater clarity, stability, and confidence in moving forward. I believe that while life transitions can be challenging, they also hold the potential for growth, resilience, and meaningful transformation with the right support. My goal is to create a safe, affirming, and collaborative space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow into their fullest selves. You are worthy of that space and support. Outside of my practice, I enjoy planning travel adventures, enjoying a latte with a good book, spending time with loved ones, relaxing at the spa, and attending Broadway shows and musicals.

My name is Shant Bardakjian and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Glendale, California. I currently work with adults within the greater Los Angeles area. Currently, I work with clients aged 18 to 64. I am a brainspotting Phase 1 trained therapist, who works with trauma, depression, and anxiety. My approach to therapy is tailored to the client’s needs. I enter into therapy with whatever you bring into the session. If you need a creative approach to solve your problems, then I would use an eclectic approach with a person centered lens that can be flexible for whatever need is brought into the room. My communication style is calm and approachable. I would like my clients to feel at ease in sharing whatever is on their heart without fear of judgment. I decided to become a therapist because I have wanted to help people discover their best selves. I have been drawn to helping people discover their innate ability to heal past whatever is keeping them stuck in life. My aim is for whoever works with me to be able to define a goal that can be accomplished and for trust to be gradually built within the therapeutic relationship. In this way, the progress that is seen in therapy will in turn translate to improvements in multiple areas of your life. In our first session together, you can expect the primary focus to be for me to hear your story of what brought you to therapy. The first session is to determine if there is an initial connection and also questions that would enable me to better understand what would work best for you as treatment progresses.

Maybe anxiety creeps in, thoughts get stuck on repeat, or there's a heaviness you can't quite shake. These are the kinds of crossroads I help people navigate. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Sacramento. My background spans community mental health, residential treatment, and crisis intervention, with a focus on addiction recovery, trauma, and complex life transitions. Welcome! I am Pedro Felix and I help people with busy minds find inner peace. I received my education at SF State, UC Berkeley, and Sofia University, and for more than 20 years, I have worked in community mental health and social services settings. My work has focused on relieving distress, exploring meaning, and empowering individuals to live their best lives. I integrate traditional psychotherapy with transpersonal psychology—mindfulness, higher-self, and wholeness—to support individuals who are struggling with emotional afflictions, relationship conflicts, and life transitions. I specialize in adults, LGBTQ+, People of Color, Latinx, Spanish-speaking, and spiritually-oriented individuals. Many of the clients I serve are feeling distressed, disconnected, or disoriented. We address healing from a difficult past, navigating a stressful present, and/or moving toward an uncertain future. The result is often clients feeling more aligned, grounded, and connected with their truth. This involves having a stronger sense of purpose, deeper meaning, and more clarity, which in turn, leads to living with more authenticity, inner calm, and joy. Hello and Welcome! I’m grateful you’re here and choosing to prioritize yourself, even if it didn’t feel easy to take this step. A little bit about me: I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 16 years of clinical experience working with people across a wide range of life challenges from anxiety, depression, and chronic stress to relationship struggles, health issues, chronic illness or pain, life transitions, parenting pressures, and trauma recovery. I’ve supported clients in individual, couples, family, and group settings. Many of the clients I work with are used to being the strong one, the one that holds everything together for everyone else... but who don’t often have space to tend to their own needs. In our work together, we’ll slow things down enough to understand what’s been weighing on you and why sometimes it feels so hard to move forward. Therapy with me is practical, supportive, and focused on helping you feel more grounded, steady, and confident in your day-to-day life. We’ll work on quieting the critical inner voice, easing anxiety and stress, and creating space for choices that feel more aligned with who you are and what you need right now. If you’re ready for support that feels warm, thoughtful, and real... and a place where you don’t have to hold everything together... I’d be honored to walk alongside you :)

Hi, I’m Adam. I believe every person is born with an innate capacity to grow, heal, and create a meaningful life. Sometimes, painful experiences or unsupportive environments block that natural capacity, leaving us feeling stuck or overwhelmed. When this happens, I view your symptoms not as failures, but as purposeful signals calling for deeper attention. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, trained at Pepperdine University. My path to this work was informed by a significant "first act" in the global business world, navigating international licensing for entertainment and intellectual property. Living and working across Europe and Australia provided me with a firsthand understanding of high-stakes environments, cultural adaptation, and the universal search for identity. This background allows me to offer a grounded, real-world perspective to clients balancing demanding careers with a desire for emotional depth. In my practice, I support adults working through anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and relationship challenges. My approach is client-centered and highly experiential. Rather than just analyzing the past, we gently shift attention to what you are experiencing right now in your body. Drawing from EMDR, Brainspotting, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), we work to reconnect fragmented pieces of your experience to rebuild a sense of safety. For couples, I blend PACT and EFT to help partners co-regulate and build secure, resilient relationships. Therapy isn’t about fixing you; it’s about uncovering the capabilities you already carry. It is a privilege to offer a steady presence where we can slow down and help your true self flourish. I’m here and ready whenever you are.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience working with clients from all paths of life, helping them with life transitions, burnout, identity and sexuality, relationship issues, ADHD, depression, mood disorders, anxiety, trauma and co-occurring disorders such as alcohol/substance abuse and chronic pain. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance to establish a safe place for you to explore and process your struggles and challenges. I have a warm, compassionate, relational approach and will help you broaden your perspective and move toward changes that will make life more meaningful for you. I will embark on this journey and walk alongside you, both supporting you as well as challenging you to grow and create a fulfilling life. All of my work is trauma focused and based on mindfulness and compassion practices. Fundamentally, I work from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy perspective and integrate parts work, compassion and EMDR. I am originally from Austria, which has provided me with a unique perspective that is rooted in a collectivist culture and graduated in an individualistic culture. In addition, I have traveled the world extensively, which has impacted my worldview tremendously. This viewpoint has provided me with insight into and understanding of individuals’ lives from a variety of backgrounds. My love for nature has informed my practice to a degree I would have never imagined. I perceive mindfulness meditation as much more than sitting still for 30 minutes and will help you find ways to integrate what you learn into your daily life in a way that fits you. Nature doesn’t judge but rather it exists fully. Mindfulness is not a skill, it’s a lifestyle.

I started helping those who are seeking to up-level their experiences and shine as their true and authentic selves in 2019. My journey first started in residential treatment facilities where I held space for those in early recovery from substance use disorders. This population ranged from men's only, women's only and LGBTQ+ Many of these individuals also struggled with anxiety, depression, trauma and eating disorders. I have also had the opportunity to work with adolescents at risk of sex trafficking. This work is extremely rewarding as the clients are at an age where they are most influential and willing. I am a deeply spiritual person and practice in the study of yoga and meditation and participate in somatic healings such as Kundalini Light Intergration (KALI) and breathworks. I am also a level two Reiki practitioner (training to become a master) and a certified personal trainer. When I am not holding space for healing, I enjoy being in the outdoors, surfing, climbing, reading and cooking nutritious and fun to eat meals. I hope to continue the journey of providing a safe space for individuals where healing can occur for years to come. I offer sessions both early in the morning (5am - 7am) and later in the evening (6pm - 9pm) to accommodate those who work nine to five or those who just prefer early morning or evening therapy sessions.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by California rather than a city like LA?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
