New to Grow
Working to support the mental health of others is truly my greatest honor. Hi, I'm Alexandra — and my passion is collaborating with individuals like you to help you rediscover your very best self. We are often programmed by our previous experiences, culture, and past trauma to believe a false narrative about who we are, but it doesn't have to stay that way. Through a supportive, non-judgmental space, I help clients resolve the negative and limiting beliefs that hold them back from stepping into their true identities — so that instead of living out an inherited script, you can move forward with intention, purpose, and a genuine sense of gratitude. When desired, I also integrate evidence-based practices with a biblical perspective to support restoration, resilience, and hope. Whatever brings you here, I'm so glad you've taken this first step.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is all about you feeling comfortable, heard, and clear on what lies ahead. We'll begin with warm introductions before exploring the specific challenges you're facing, completing an initial assessment, and beginning to identify goals that align with your values and aspirations. I like to be upfront that the first session tends to be a little more question-and-answer than those that follow — that's simply because I want to understand your story well enough to offer you the most effective support going forward. From there, sessions can take whatever shape works best for you: structured and solution-focused, or more open and conversational. My aim is always the same — that you leave feeling some relief, feeling heard, and feeling confident that we're a great fit to work together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength is my ability to connect — to make people feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. Clients often describe me as both relatable and effective, like a trusted friend who also happens to offer real tools for lasting change. I am a compassionate, active listener who approaches every client without preconceived notions or bias, and I bring creativity, humor, and deep dedication to every session. I have a particular strength in helping clients get to the root of their struggles — uncovering the underlying patterns and core beliefs that may be quietly holding them back — and then guiding them through evidence-based techniques toward greater self-awareness and practical, meaningful growth. Healing happens within a strong therapeutic relationship, and I am committed to walking alongside you with honesty, encouragement, and respect every step of the way.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to serve adults who are ready to move forward — even if that readiness comes with uncertainty or exhaustion. Many of my clients have been struggling for some time, have tried other solutions, and arrive feeling overwhelmed or quietly hopeless that anything will really change. I work with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, grief, mood disorders, social anxiety, panic disorder, trauma, workplace challenges, relationship difficulties, mid-life transitions, impulsivity, and veteran or armed forces matters, among others. I also have a passion for working with clients who identify as neurdivergent. As a person with the "lived experience" of having ADHD, I am dedicated to erasing "internalized ableism" and the self-criticism and low self-esteem that can come along with it. I am focused on helping all of my clients to optimize their functioning and create a better and brighter life for themselves. If you've been carrying something heavy and are ready to finally set it down, I'm here — and you don't have to do it alone.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I help clients learn how to modify unhelpful thoughts that contribute to anxiety, depression and low self-esteem and choose more helpful ways of thinking that reduce suffering.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Many clients come to me struggling with difficulties in their life that they cannot change, from trauma to chronic pain. I help clients reduce their suffering by coming to an acceptance of these circumstances. Then I help clients find a path forward no matter what they are struggling with by thinking about what matters most to them and deciding to live their best life according to these values.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
With DBT I can help clients learn skills related to mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT skills are “skills for life” and can be helpful no matter what kind of situation my clients are facing.
Christian Counseling
If requested, I can provide therapy based on a biblical perspective oriented at creating hope and resilience.
