About me

My name is Megan Meredith and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Southern California. I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and have been practicing for 3 years. I have several years of experience with young adults and adolescents, and I worked for several years as a School-Based Therapist. I provide therapy via a person-centered approach with tailored interventions to address emotional, behavioral, and relational issues. My area of focus includes anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, grief and loss, and issues related to life transitions. My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy and aims to reduce problematic symptoms and improve clients' self-esteem, insight, and overall quality of life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions and discuss your expectations for therapy. We will also discuss your current challenges and what an ideal outcome may look like for you. This will allow me to understand your goals and how I can best support you in future sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

The therapeutic relationship between the provider and client is one of the most critical factors in determining the client's progress. I prioritize building a genuine connection with my clients and creating an environment in which they feel comfortable sharing their unique stories. This initial foundation of trust and rapport enables me to effectively guide my clients toward meaningful growth and healing.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Life can be extremely challenging to navigate and I always hope to foster an environment that is unconditionally validating and accepting amid these challenges. My approach is rooted in empathy and I love working with clients who are striving to increase their awareness of themselves and those around them. Utilizing a person-centered approach, I aim to empower my clients to navigate life's transitions with resilience and confidence.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe in supporting my client's autonomy and ability to make their own decisions by using a person-centered approach. This allows my clients to lead the session in the direction that they feel is appropriate or comfortable for them. I utilize aspects from several other treatment modalities (CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Attachment), however, I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach and always strive to work collaboratively with my client on tailoring therapy to their needs.

Megan is so easy to talk to. She made it very easy to trust her, and I felt like I could be open with her very early on. Our conversations feel like I'm sitting with a friend, and I always leave our sessions with my head being held a little higher. She remains professional while also being personable and authentic, and she provides direction and solutions while also being validating. Can't recommend her enough!
