Hey! My name is Nichole Piatt. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. Ive worked with many clients who have suffered from complex trauma and work from an empathetic and trauma informed lens. I work to know the whole person in order to heal the whole person.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we can expect to discuss expectations for therapy and get to know one another. I believe it is truly important that we are both the right fit for each other.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Ive developed a tried and true playbook for working with clients who have experienced complex trauma. It's a nice mix of challenging, empathy and evidence based practices.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with those who have a rich story and want to work on processing that and healing through exploration pf their life. I love clients who are willing to dive deep into their trauma in order to heal. I acknowledge how difficult this process can be, and I want to walk you through it.

Motivational Interviewing

I enjoy utilizing motivational interviewing in therapy because it empowers clients to explore their own reasons for change in a non-judgmental, collaborative way. This approach respects their autonomy while fostering a sense of hope and confidence. By focusing on their strengths and values, motivational interviewing helps clients feel more motivated and ready to make lasting changes in their lives.
