New to Grow
Life often hands us challenges that create obstacles to realizing one's fullest potential. Life is unpredictable, and making sense of it and the world around us can be confusing. At times, we need help. We can even start to believe that change isn't possible. Throughout the counseling process, I help individuals find resolution to a wide range of personal concerns, crises, and psychological issues. My approach to counseling balances compassion, and safety while working to find peace from all the challenges that life brings. My style is authentic and practical - I focus on helping you discover your strengths. I listen attentively to your stories with non-judgmental empathy and acceptance. I provide ongoing support with therapeutic insight and expertise in a confidential setting. With a special interest in working with folks struggling with substance abuse issues, I have a great deal of experience in the Substance Abuse & Recovery world. I also enjoy working with older individuals looking to find new values as they move into retirement.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, I would like us to get to know each other to see if we will be a viable team working to solve whatever need you bring with you. I would hope to build trust and ease in sharing.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
As a counselor, my goal is to help you find your goals and ways to achieve them. I have worked with many people struggling to find their answers and achieving their goals. However small or large the problems may be, I have faith that we can find the solutions and move to the next direction you want to go with your life!
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is one who is wanting or needing help to get a problematic situation resolved; work through issues in which they feel stuck; learn to deal with mental health issues or substance abuse issues. I want to help them learn to empower themselves in ways that are valuable to the path they hope to travel.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I've used CBT to help clients choose new behaviors in response to unhealthy or non useful thoughts, feelings, or behaviors which hold the client back from achieving their chosen goals in life.
