LP, 45 years of experience
Hello, my name is Dr. Schubert and I’m a clinical psychologist with 45 years of experience. For the past 37 years, I have been in full-time private practice, helping individuals from all walks of life navigate their personal challenges. My approach integrates the most effective Western psychotherapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), alongside Eastern spiritual practices. This unique combination allows me to guide clients toward a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
In your first session with me, clients can expect a warm and non-judgmental environment where we will begin to establish a strong therapeutic relationship. The focus will be on understanding your current challenges, goals, and the areas where you feel stuck. We’ll start by exploring your thoughts and behaviors, particularly any irrational patterns or unhealthy habits, and identify how they might be impacting your life. Together, we’ll work on setting realistic goals and developing strategies to help you make meaningful changes.
My greatest strengths as a therapist lie in my extensive experience working with a wide range of clients, which allows me to adapt to different needs and situations. I pride myself on taking a practical, down-to-earth approach that helps clients feel at ease and supported while navigating their challenges."
The clients I am best positioned to serve are those who are open to self-reflection and growth. You may be someone who has been struggling with depression—feeling stuck, unmotivated, or overwhelmed by persistent negative thoughts—and are unsure how to break free from that cycle. You're ready to explore the deeper underlying factors contributing to your depression and are motivated to take proactive steps toward meaningful change. If you're ready to confront the thoughts and behaviors that keep you feeling stuck, I’m here to support you in navigating those challenges and moving toward a more empowered and fulfilling life. I’d be honored to partner with you on this journey.
For the past 45 years, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has been the foundation of my therapeutic work. I focus on helping clients recognize and change unhealthy behavioral patterns, guiding them toward accepting their past while making meaningful commitments to shape a healthier, more fulfilling future. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been my primary therapeutic orientation for 44 years. Focusing on changing unhealthy behavioral patterns, I help clients accept their past and make commitments to change their future.

Dr. Schubert is a thoughtful therapist who has an amazing ability to define and identify key issues and areas for growth. He listens carefully and empathetically offering clear guidance. His warmth, humor , and empathy make me feel at ease, even when the subject is difficult. At the same time, he is clear and direct--engaging the client in the "work" of therapy--with a goal of effecting change. He provides lots of exercises to help work through issues and to engage in mindfulness.
