(he/him)
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) with nine years of experience working with adolescents (high school–aged and older) and adults facing a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. I specialize in supporting teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm behaviors, and trauma/PTSD. I have extensive experience helping adolescents navigate academic stress, social anxiety, identity development, emotional regulation, and the impact of difficult life experiences. With adults, I work collaboratively to address mood concerns, trauma histories, life transitions, relationship stress, and patterns that may be keeping them feeling stuck. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I prioritize creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood and empowered. Together, we work to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and foster meaningful healing and personal growth so clients can move toward becoming the best versions of themselves.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in my ability to cultivate a safe and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment, fostering trust and open communication with my clients. I have a deep empathy and understanding of the unique challenges faced by high school age and older individuals, allowing me to tailor my approach to meet their specific needs effectively. Additionally, my extensive experience and ongoing commitment to professional development ensure that I am equipped with the latest therapeutic techniques and insights to support my clients on their journey towards healing and growth.
I work best with individuals who are navigating meaningful life challenges and are ready—at their own pace—to better understand themselves and create change. I have extensive experience supporting teenagers (13–17), adults, and older adults (65+), and I tailor my approach to meet each stage of life with care, practicality, and respect. With teenagers, I often help with anxiety, social stress, school refusal, low motivation, family conflict, and building confidence. Many of the teens I work with struggle to find their voice or feel misunderstood. I focus on creating a space where they feel heard without pressure, while also helping them develop emotional awareness, coping skills, and the ability to express themselves more effectively. With adults, I frequently work with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, work stress, burnout, and relationship challenges. This includes people who are highly driven but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from their personal lives. I also support clients who are processing difficult relationship patterns, including recovering from toxic or emotionally harmful dynamics. Together, we work on boundaries, clarity, and building a more balanced and sustainable way of living. For older adults, I provide support around life transitions, loss, changes in identity, health-related stress, and maintaining a sense of purpose and connection. I take a grounded and respectful approach, recognizing the depth of life experience each person brings while helping them navigate current challenges. Across all age groups, I work well with clients who may feel hesitant about therapy, unsure where to start, or who have struggled to open up in the past. My style is supportive, direct, and collaborative. I balance validation with gentle challenge, helping clients not only feel understood but also move toward meaningful change. Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all. I draw from supportive therapy, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and practical, real-world problem solving.
Psychodynamic
As an experienced MFT with eight years of practice, I bring a profound understanding of the complexities within interpersonal relationships and family dynamics. My approach is deeply rooted in the psychodynamic model, allowing me to skillfully navigate the unconscious processes and unresolved conflicts that shape individuals' behaviors and interactions. With empathy and insight, I aim to create a safe therapeutic space where clients can explore underlying emotions, patterns, and attachment dynamics, fostering profound self-awareness and facilitating transformative growth.
Trauma Informed Care
As a therapist committed to trauma-informed care, I prioritize creating a safe and empowering environment for individuals who have experienced trauma. By acknowledging the profound impact trauma can have on both mind and body, I take a compassionate, sensitive approach that avoids re-traumatization. Together, we work to build trust, explore your experiences at a pace that feels comfortable, and develop strategies to support healing and resilience. My goal is to foster a therapeutic relationship where you feel empowered, respected, and understood, enabling your journey toward recovery and well-being.
Motivational Interviewing
I specialize in utilizing motivational interviewing as a powerful treatment method to facilitate positive change and growth. Through empathetic listening and collaborative exploration, I work closely with individuals to elicit their intrinsic motivations for change. My approach emphasizes respect, autonomy, and empowerment, guiding clients towards their goals with compassion and support. By harnessing the principles of motivational interviewing, I empower clients to uncover their strengths, overcome obstacles, and make sustainable changes that lead to lasting fulfillment and well-being.
Supportive
As a therapist, I incorporate supportive therapy as a key treatment method, recognizing the importance of a strong therapeutic alliance in fostering healing and growth. This approach focuses on providing a safe and empathetic environment where you can freely express your thoughts and feelings. By offering validation, encouragement, and practical guidance, we’ll work together to build your self-esteem and coping skills. Supportive therapy emphasizes your strengths and resilience, helping you feel understood and empowered as you navigate life's challenges. My aim is to create a nurturing space where you can find hope and direction on your journey.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I integrate mindfulness therapy techniques into my practice to help clients cultivate greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience. By focusing on the present moment with acceptance and compassion, mindfulness empowers individuals to reduce stress, manage overwhelming emotions, and break free from reactive patterns. Whether through guided mindfulness exercises, grounding strategies, or practical tools to enhance daily life, I tailor these techniques to meet each client's unique needs, fostering a sense of balance and clarity on their journey toward healing and growth.
