Hi my name is Mylan (Me-lawn) Allen. I approach therapy with authenticity and curiosity using person centered and cognitive based therapeutic modalities. My clients develop a deeper sense of self and understanding of their environment when working with me. I help my clients build their resilience by learning to challenge their thoughts, identify their feelings and recognize patterns and behaviors.
In our first session we go over your informed consent, your expectations for therapy and also how we will work together on the concerns that brought you to therapy. We will build a trusting relationship and I hope you will leave the first session feeling seen, understood and confident in our therapeutic alliance.
I'm confident my strengths as a therapist are that I have the ability to empathize with insight about my clients experiences and encourage along the way.
I help client's work on their thoughts feelings and behaviors. I 've been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for many years to help people work through their concerns and therapeutic needs.
