LCSW, 30 years of experience
Hi there, I'm Joshua! As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California with a master’s degree in social work, I specialize in providing compassionate, client-centered therapy using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). My approach integrates these evidence-based methodologies to offer a holistic and effective path toward healing. I am dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore and understand their internal experiences, develop practical skills for managing emotions, and foster personal growth. Together, we work towards lasting change and improved well-being, tailored to your unique needs and goals.
We will spend most of our time talking about how you've been feeling recently and asking questions to understand better why you may feel that way. The first session is about building an initial connection and helping me know where we should go. Everyone is different, and I like to listen before assuming I know what will work best for you moving forward. This is a journey, and I am the guide.
Self heals! My role is to be a companion joining you on your journey, directed by you, for you. Whatever the concerns, I am here to serve you in any way I can. I may laugh with you or cry with you as we reflect together on your improving wellbeing. You deserve to be heard and cared for.
I work with individuals, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with anxiety and depression. Whether you’re facing overwhelming worry, persistent sadness, or a sense of being stuck, I offer a supportive and empathetic space to help you navigate these challenges. My approach combines Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to address the root causes of your distress, build resilience, and develop practical strategies for managing your emotions. Together, we will work towards finding clarity, fostering self-compassion, and achieving meaningful progress in your mental health journey. Let me be your guide!

Joshua patiently listened to me and had some very good questions for me and good input for me. This was the initial session and I have good expectations.

Josh is in the same age demographic as me, making it comforting for me to speak with someone who recalls and has had life experiences that align with my experiences growing up. We have both worked in the public service sector and have personal and professional experience working with families, so sharing matters that relate to these topics is approachable and beneficial.

I admire Joshua extremely. I have trust issues and he is about one of the very very few that I have some trust in.
