I’m a licensed clinical social worker with 11 years of experience supporting adults across all levels of care, from outpatient groups to psychiatric hospitalization. As the founder of The Mend: Wellness Collective, I have a particular passion for working with people of color, with a focus on addiction, maternal mental health, and the impact of urban trauma. My goal is to create a space where clients feel seen, understood, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward meaningful change.

First session

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to share what brought you to therapy. There’s no expectation that you have everything figured out or know exactly where to start. I also don’t want you to feel like you’re simply answering a list of questions, I want this to feel like a conversation. You also are welcome to ask questions, get a sense of who I am and how I work, and decide whether you feel I’m the right fit for you. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of what you want from therapy and what working together could look like.

Strengths

My approach is warm, relaxed, and collaborative—I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up as you are without feeling judged or rushed. I’ll meet you where you are and work at a pace that feels comfortable and meaningful for you. You are the expert of your story; I’m just a guide to help you navigate the twists and turns along the way. I bring curiosity, compassion, and a practical perspective to my sessions, while creating space for you to be honest, process what you’re experiencing, and figure out what moving forward looks like for you.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is an adult who may be navigating a major life transition, relationship challenges, substance use, trauma, motherhood, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of what comes next. I especially enjoy working with people of color who may not have always felt seen or understood in traditional mental health spaces. My clients don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. They just need to be willing to be honest, curious about themselves, and open to exploring what might help them move forward.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients explore the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we can identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck and explore more helpful ways of thinking and responding. I focus on making these tools practical and relevant to what the client is experiencing in their everyday life.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to help clients explore their own reasons for change without feeling pressured or judged. This approach is particularly helpful when someone feels uncertain or conflicted about making a change. Rather than telling clients what they should do, I help them identify their own goals, values, and motivations and build confidence in their ability to move forward.

Trauma-Informed Care

I approach therapy with an understanding that past experiences can shape how we think, feel, relate to others, and respond to stress. I prioritize emotional safety, trust, and client choice while avoiding assumptions about what someone has experienced.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I meet clients where they are, listen without judgment, and create space for them to explore their experiences in their own words. Rather than assuming I know what is best for someone, I see the client as the expert in their own life and work alongside them to identify what they want and need from therapy.
