Congratulations for taking the first step towards your healing and self discovery. The successful therapeutic process requires a safe connection with your practitioner. If after reading my profile you suspect my skills are aligned with your needs, we can set-up an exploratory session to create a plan that works best for you in our partnership together. I understand that looking for quality therapeutic services can feel like a challenge and as the world evolves, so does the sense of ourselves begin to unfold. I value and advocate for the dignity of all cultures, respect our differences, and provide a safe space to explore the injustices we encounter. In the early days of my career, I began with an interest in the grassroots work to help strengthen communities. I've supported many individuals throughout the world with a strong interest in healing and teaching others on how to find their own voice. Over the past 20 years, I've practiced in a variety of treatment modalities with a strong focus on a holistic approach. I hold a dual Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work and Leadership. Within my professional journey, my expertise in delivering therapeutic services range from Early Childhood Development to Older Adults in a variety of settings but not limited to e.g. schools, hospitals, nonprofit, community programs, and residential treatment. Today, my specialties include trauma focused therapy, psychotherapy, defining our attachment styles, CBT, mindfulness techniques, life transitions, work-related stress, coaching, and exploring intergenerational patterns. I'm passionate about the Arts and have incorporated them into my practice, which influenced my style of therapy. This modality can help connect the mind and body in ways to recenter and express ourselves. Ultimately, my goal is to help uncover some of the challenges you're facing and amplify the strengths you already have.
During our first session, my goal is to hear what brings you to therapy and then create a pathway towards healing. I want to ensure that we are the best match and that you receive the best quality of care.
I believe that there's no "one size fits all" method and look forward to finding creative pathways that work best for you. My style always begins and ends with empathy and compassion into our space as we navigate your journey to a stronger you.
It's important to understand that therapy looks different for many people and to remain hopeful that the difficult periods of your life will change. Nothing ever stays the same. So, here are some questions you may want to ask yourself. 1. What changes do you want to make for yourself? 2. Have you found yourself feeling stuck ? 3. Are you going through a difficult change in your life?
During sessions, I will help you connect your thoughts/ feelings to where you feel it in your body. Too often, we hold emotional pain and it appears physically.
All of us have experiences some level of trauma, whether we interpret it as a "big or small" event that occurred within our lives. It can affect how we see or approach the relationships we have with people, places, or events in our lives.
During sessions, we can discuss different ways of thinking or seeing a situation to help unlock thought patterns that were used, which often times are ways that we protect ourselves from pain.
