Hi, I’m Alison, and I’m so glad you’re here. Prioritizing your emotional well-being is a powerful act of self-care, and I’m here to support you. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience—including my work as a school social worker—I’ve supported children, adolescents, and families through life’s challenges. I provide a supportive and compassionate space where you can navigate stress, transitions, and emotional struggles with confidence. My holistic approach recognizes the deep connection between emotional well-being and overall health. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or burnt out, you’re not alone. In our sessions, you’ll gain practical tools to manage emotions, find balance, and move forward with clarity. I’d love to connect and support you on your journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, my goal is to create a warm and supportive space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. I’ll ask some general questions to gain a better understanding of who you are, your current challenges, and what you hope to achieve in therapy. I’ll also share a bit about myself and my approach so you know what to expect. Most importantly, this session is about building a genuine connection and ensuring you feel safe, heard, and supported as we begin this journey together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a clinician, I bring an authentic, straightforward, and compassionate approach to therapy, creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow and heal. I take a holistic approach to therapy, recognizing the deep connection between mind, body, and spirit in fostering overall well-being. My approach integrates mindfulness, stress management techniques, and self-care practices to support lasting change. With extensive experience working with educators and mental health professionals, I understand the impact of vicarious trauma and burnout. I provide a safe space for reflection, healing, and growth, offering practical strategies to navigate these challenges. Additionally, I support parents in managing stress and fostering emotional well-being for themselves and their families. My goal is to help clients reconnect with their purpose, set healthy boundaries, and cultivate sustainable well-being.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I’m best positioned to work with individuals coping with life stressors, transitions, burnout, and anxiety. My approach resonates with those seeking an authentic, relaxed environment rather than a traditional or highly structured therapy style. I support clients who are open to exploring their challenges with a more flexible, holistic approach that fosters self-awareness, growth, and healing.

My treatment methods

Mind-body approach

This approach acknowledges the interconnectedness of the mind and body, recognizing how emotional, mental, and physical health are intertwined. I integrate this approach to help clients manage stress, burnout, and emotional overwhelm, using techniques like mindfulness, breathwork, grounding, and movement to support nervous system regulation and reconnection. By addressing both mind and body, I empower clients to develop sustainable self-care practices that promote overall well-being.

Strength-Based

I utilize a strength-based approach in therapy, focusing on clients’ unique strengths, resources, and resilience. By highlighting and building on existing skills, I help clients develop a sense of empowerment and confidence in their ability to navigate challenges. This approach fosters self-awareness and promotes growth, enabling clients to create positive, lasting change in their lives.

Psychodynamic

I incorporate psychodynamic principles to help clients explore how past experiences, especially from childhood, shape current thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. By uncovering unconscious patterns and unresolved conflicts, we work to create greater self-awareness, emotional healing, and healthier relationships.

Eclectic

Eclectic therapy is a flexible, personalized approach that blends different therapy techniques to fit your unique needs. Instead of using just one method, I pull from various practices—like mindfulness, breathwork, and strength-based strategies—to help you navigate life’s challenges in a way that works best for you. This approach allows for a supportive, adaptable experience that meets you where you are on your journey.
