New to Grow
Hi, I'm Chelsea, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in supporting young adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, and depression. I approach each person with compassion, curiosity, and without judgment, creating a space where individuals feel safe to explore their experiences authentically. My approach is grounded in meeting people where they are and partnering with them throughout their individual journey toward growth and healing. I am passionate about this work because I believe everyone needs support at times, and that people often possess more strength, resilience, and capacity for change than they realize.
Focusing on the relief of depressive and anxiety related symptoms, my treatment plans are client-driven to achieve what is the utmost priority to you. Initial sessions are comprised of assessing areas for growth to support the jointly created treatment plan and steps therein. Throughout, we partner together to tackle any unwanted thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with a strength based approach.
With over ten years working with adults and families in non profit and hospital settings, I have a unique view on mental health support that has been enhanced with additional specialized trainings in CBT, CPT, and grief counseling and treatment. Using primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in order to foster lasting emotional well-being and a stronger sense of self. I work collaboratively with clients to identify goals, explore concerns more deeply, and begin developing meaningful steps toward positive change.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in supporting young adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, and depression, I find my clients are usually seeking change in their lives, feeling overwhelm with where to start, and often experiencing limited motivation to initiate change. Clients tend to focus on skills building with various grounding techniques, cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, interpersonal conflict resolution, and/or values clarification resulting in lasting improvement on their wellness journey.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my sessions. After exploring what brought you to therapy, it is important to see how our feelings, thoughts, and behaviors are interconnected with our concerns and challenges we are facing, emphasizing what drives us to change and reigniting hope for change along the way. Part of the work is identifying some thoughts and feelings that may exist, and that may also initiate challenges, and over time, assisting in changing those feelings and thoughts associated with those challenges for enhanced and lasting well being.
