(she/her)
Hello, I’m Demetria Agharese. I specialize in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, and self-esteem challenges. My goal is to support you in finding relief, clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of self so you can feel more grounded in your everyday life. Helping others has always been at the core of who I am. My approach is rooted in empathy, compassion, and a genuine commitment to your emotional well-being. In our work together, you’ll have a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where your concerns can be explored openly, your experiences are truly heard, and your challenges are met with evidence-based strategies and consistent encouragement. Together, we can work on building self-worth, developing healthier thought patterns, and strengthening the confidence needed to move forward. Whether you’re working to overcome anxious or intrusive thoughts, heal from unresolved pain, practice forgiveness, manage overwhelming emotions, improve self-esteem, or reconnect with hope and motivation, we will move at a pace that feels comfortable and empowering for you. My goal is to help you heal, grow, and create a life that feels calmer, brighter, and more aligned with the person you want to become.
Your first session is all about you. We’ll focus on creating a safe, comfortable space where you feel heard and supported. I’ll take the time to understand your story, what’s been weighing on you, and what you hope to gain from therapy. Together, we’ll begin clarifying your goals and laying the groundwork for the changes you want to see. From the very start, I see our work as a partnership; you bring your experiences, and I bring tools and guidance. My role is to walk alongside you as an ally, helping you move toward healing, growth, and the life you want to create. You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. Healing, growth, and empowerment are within your reach, and I’m here to help you take that first step. Reach out today to start your journey toward a brighter, more peaceful future.
What clients often tell me is that they feel truly heard in our sessions. My greatest strength lies in listening with empathy and tuning in to the deeper meaning behind your story. I believe therapy doesn’t end when the session does, that’s why I provide practical tools and personalized homework to support your growth between our meetings. Together, we’ll set meaningful goals and move toward them at a pace that feels right for you. My style is both compassionate and practical, offering encouragement, guidance, and strategies to help you build resilience and lasting emotional strength. You won’t be alone on this journey; I’ll be right by your side every step of the way.
I am best positioned to support clients who are navigating anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, unresolved pain, self-esteem challenges, and who are ready to better understand themselves and the patterns shaping their lives. Many of the individuals I work with feel overwhelmed by persistent thoughts, intrusive worries, emotional ups and downs, or a sense of feeling “stuck,” and are looking for practical tools alongside deeper emotional healing. I also work especially well with clients who are carrying the impact of childhood abandonment—whether emotional, physical, or both. These early experiences can often surface in adulthood as difficulty trusting others, fear of rejection, diminished self-worth, people-pleasing tendencies, or challenges in relationships. I provide a compassionate and supportive space to process these wounds, strengthen self-esteem, build a healthier sense of identity, and develop more secure ways of connecting with others. My ideal clients are open to reflection and growth, even if they feel uncertain or hesitant at times. They do not need to have everything figured out—only a willingness to explore their experiences and take steps toward meaningful change. Together, we focus on healing unresolved pain, managing overwhelming emotions, building resilience, increasing confidence, and creating a calmer, more grounded, and fulfilling life aligned with who they want to become.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
Are worries, fears, or obsessive thoughts keeping you stuck? I specialize in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), one of the most effective treatments for OCD, anxiety, and phobias. In our work together, you’ll learn how to face what feels overwhelming in a safe and supportive way. The goal isn’t just to manage symptoms—it’s to help you reclaim your freedom, confidence, and peace of mind.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Sometimes our thoughts can feel like they’re running the show. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you step back, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build new ways of seeing yourself and the world. With this proven approach, clients often find relief from stress, anxiety, and depression while gaining practical tools they can use every day. It’s about creating real change that lasts, not just quick fixes.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
At the heart of my work is Person-Centered Therapy—a belief that true healing happens when you feel fully seen and supported. I’ll meet you exactly where you are, without judgment, and together we’ll create a space where you can explore, grow, and move toward the life you want. My role is to help you uncover your strengths, discover solutions that fit your values, and feel empowered to create lasting change.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Life can bring pain, stress, and uncertainty—but struggling against those experiences often makes them feel heavier. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps you learn how to accept difficult thoughts and feelings without letting them control your life. Instead of fighting your mind, you’ll discover how to focus on what truly matters to you and take steps toward living in alignment with your values.

Demetria is very helpful I think her style is very compatible with me because shes a good listener that can help me to dig a bit deeper to reach my conclusions if i haven't already. Which is more of what I want because I dont want a therapist that I solely depend on but one that can assist me with my critical thinking skills and problem solving. I feel challenged and understood during my sessions which has aided in a lot of my growth. Thank you

She was very good at listening

Really listened to what I was saying and asked follow-up questions to better understand. She really took the time to get to the bottom of things and even listened to me ramble without harshly redirecting me. I have never had a therapist be so thorough in the first session and have a great plan to help me succeed.
