New to Grow
Hi my name is Ebony, let's take the next steps together. I have a broad range of personal and professional experience that I bring to my practice. I am a licensed professional counselor with training in clinical psychology. In the last 15 years, I have worked across a variety of settings including schools, private, outpatient and community health agencies. My passion is using motivational interviewing and various other models and techniques to support young adults with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and the stressors of transitioning into their next steps of life.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session will be about getting to know you i.e. what's your favorite color, what's your favorite food, and just building rapport. I would also like to know what brought you to therapy and how we can collaborate in this partnership. I will also speak with you about my responsibilities as a licensed professional counselor. Typical sessions last up to 1 hour.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength is my attunement, authenticity, sense of humor, and passion to support you with making positive changes in your emotional experiences and life choices.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
If you're a young adult at a point in your life where you recognize that you just need a little more support with strengthening internal motivation, anxiousness, low mood, relationship dynamics with friends and family, or just understanding your place in the world so you can become a better version of yourself-come see me and let's explore next steps together.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing is used in therapeutic practice with young adults to help them explore their ambivalence, strengthen intrinsic motivation, and empower them to make positive changes in their behaviors and life choices.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy is used to help identify the interconnection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while increasing coping skills aiming to help individuals identify, label, and challenge distorted thoughts patterns that contribute to their emotional distress.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT is used to help individuals build skills to manage overwhelming emotions, improve relationships, and cope with stress through CBT using mindfulness, distress tolerance, improving communication and interpersonal skills, and setting boundaries.
