What if I am Already Receiving Care?

If you are already receiving health care services, the simplest way to check if your provider is in network is simply by asking them. If they confirm they are, no further action is needed on your part. However, if they are not, please contact the number listed on the back of your Superior member ID card. Superior HealthPlan will initiate the process of inviting your provider to join their network, with the primary objective of ensuring your uninterrupted access to necessary care. If your provider chooses not to become a part of the Superior network, they will collaborate with them to ensure continuous care until your medical records can be seamlessly transferred to a new in-network doctor.

Will I Need Prior Authorization to Receive Therapy?

Depending on the type of treatment, yes. While everyone enrolled in one of the nine different programs Superior HealthPlan offers has full access to the benefits covered by CHIP and Medicaid, there are instances where prior authorization is needed to confirm the treatment needed is medically necessary. This prior authorization is determined by medical professionals, including nurses, doctors, and therapists. If for some reason a treatment you require is not deemed medically necessary, you will receive a letter explaining why it is not. You can find more information regarding prior authorizations for Superior HealthPlan therapy coverage here.
