This experience has helped to expand my clinical areas of expertise such as stress and anxiety reduction, management of depressive and mood symptoms, harm reduction and substance abuse, and symptoms/risk behaviors associated with personality and attachment disorders. Additionally, I have worked within the foster care system providing both individual and family therapy services to children, adolescents, and guardians. Hello, I'm Elizabeth. As a therapist over the last 12 years I have worked with a wide variety of people as an advocate and an ally in helping them heal and grow through the therapy process. Beginning to look for a therapist can bring on anxiety, but know that taking this step is already a major sign of growth. I help work through the chaos inside one's head to identify what are the actual causes of anxiety, stress, and depression. In sessions it can be a time to process emotions, but more importantly, to identify the cause of stressors and what is and is not in your control. I help people learn to set boundaries, work on self-care, and coping skills, and be true to their authentic selves. I have always been an advocate for those that don't feel that their voices are heard including: LGBTQIA+ individuals, TBI survivors, Neurodivergent individuals, parents, college students, healthcare workers, teachers and individuals looking to find their self-worth. My approach starts with a person-centered mindset and by working together we will decide which therapeutic techniques will work best for you as an individual.

Finding a therapist who you trust and feel heard by can be equally as challenging. But that’s where I would like to come in! I believe in building a strong, therapeutic alliance with the children and families I work with so that they feel validated, respected, and supported. My clients describe me as involved, nonjudgmental, enthusiastic, and easy to talk to. I respect all identities, I particularly enjoy working with LGBTQ+ youth, questioning individuals, and gender nonconforming folks. I place a strong emphasis on a family approach, which means I can include caregivers in treatment to maximize the benefits of a holistic and systematic approach. My areas of clinical specialty include: child/adolescent anxiety and depression, peer and family relationships, foster care/reunification/adoption, parenting/coparenting skills, gender affirming care, ADHD and neurodivergent individuals, anger management, and maximizing healthy family functioning.

*** PLEASE READ FIRST: For some reason, Grow's scheduling system does not work with mine. There is a very good chance that I will message having to reschedule an intake due to this. Please still feel free to book, and then be on the lookout for a message from me and we can find a time that works better!*** I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and transitions with greater clarity, resilience, and self-compassion. My approach is collaborative, grounded, and deeply empathetic — I believe therapy should be a safe space where you can show up as your full self without judgment. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply seeking personal growth, I’m here to walk alongside you with curiosity, support, and practical tools for meaningful change. You are not your diagnosis, and therapy is not about "fixing" anything. Therapy is about accepting and embracing challenges rather than trying to avoid or escape them. You don’t have to go through this alone — let’s connect and see if we’re a good fit. *Please note- I am not always on the ball with my schedule and occasionally I will forget to update my calendar here. It doesn't happen often, but on occasion, until we find a permanent time I may have to message about rescheduling.*

Have you ever felt misunderstood by family and friends? Find it difficult to trust others including professionals? Have difficulty being seen as a person and not your condition? Do you feel alone? Do you struggle with adapting and accepting your chronic illness or chronic pain? Let's talk! I can help you build tools to gain strength and confidence in managing your personal challenges. I empower adults with chronic illness/ pain or a history of abuse to take back their control and create healthy supports in order to stay on a path towards healing. Our experiences with our body or from how others treat us create unhealthy pathways for self regulation often exhibited as anger or anxiety. The compassion and guidance I provide will rewire those pathways allowing you to be the best version of yourself. In our sessions together, we will work on making small manageable changes through mindfulness, changing behaviors and embracing a positive healthy mindset. It’s often scary to start therapy for the first time or even to go back to therapy but it is the best self care gift you can give to yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Connecticut rather than a city like Hartford?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Connecticut from New Haven to Springfield! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Connecticut.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
