New to Grow
Hi, I'm Hayley, a Licensed Professional Counselor. You’ve already taken a huge step in prioritizing your mental health. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling anxious, stuck, or disconnected. They may not know exactly how to move forward, but they know something needs to change. I specialize in working with young adults and women navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, and burnout. Together, we focus on building confidence, balance, and self-compassion, using humor and perseverance to navigate challenges along the way. My approach blends evidence-based practices such as CBT and mindfulness with warmth, authenticity, and compassion. I help clients better understand their thought patterns, regulate emotions, and develop the tools needed to create real, lasting change. In our work together, my goal is to help you reconnect with yourself, rediscover what makes you feel alive, and remember that growth is possible — even in the toughest moments. I know reaching out for help can feel intimidating, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own. You don’t have to do it alone. If you're ready to take the next step, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
In your first session with me, you can expect a calm, welcoming space where we’ll focus on getting to know you at your own pace. I’ll ask some questions about what brings you in, your background, and what you’re hoping to get out of our work together. There’s no pressure to share everything right away; you’re always in control of what you choose to discuss. We’ll also talk about what therapy with me looks like; how sessions are structured, how often we might meet, and what approaches I tend to use. This is a chance for you to ask questions too, whether they’re about the process, confidentiality, or anything else on your mind. The first session is less about “solving” everything and more about building a foundation. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and a little clearer about next steps. Together, we’ll begin identifying priorities and, if it feels right, start outlining goals that are meaningful to you. It’s also completely okay if you feel nervous, unsure, or even skeptical coming in—many people do. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance; just showing up is enough.
Clients often share that they feel genuinely understood and at ease with me, without judgment, pressure, or the need to have everything figured out. I bring a calm, grounded presence to therapy and create a space where you can be honest, vulnerable, and fully yourself. My approach is both compassionate and practical. I believe meaningful change happens when insight is paired with tools you can actually use in everyday life. Together, we explore patterns, build emotional awareness, and develop strategies that support lasting growth at a pace that feels safe and supportive. I’m especially attuned to the unspoken, the thoughts and feelings that are hard to name, and the cycles that repeat despite your best efforts. Clients often notice greater clarity, emotional relief, stronger boundaries, and increased self-trust as our work unfolds. Above all, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and connected to yourself.
I’m best positioned to support clients who are ready to engage meaningfully in the therapeutic process. They may already have a degree of self-awareness or curiosity about their inner world, and they’re open to reflecting on patterns, experiences, and emotions with honesty and care. These clients don’t expect quick fixes; they understand that growth takes time, and they’re willing to show up consistently, even when it feels challenging. They’re motivated to make changes, deepen their understanding of themselves, and develop healthier ways of relating to their thoughts, feelings, and relationships. Often, they’re navigating concerns such as anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, or a desire for greater clarity and purpose. They value a collaborative space where they can feel supported, challenged in a constructive way, and empowered to move toward meaningful, lasting change.
Motivational Interviewing
My experience with motivational interviewing (MI) has shaped my therapeutic practice by grounding it in collaboration, respect for client autonomy, and a deep curiosity about each client’s values and readiness for change. Through Motivational Interviewing, I’ve learned to move away from directive or problem-solving approaches and instead focus on eliciting clients’ own motivations, strengths, and ambivalence in a nonjudgmental way.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My work is grounded in person-centered therapy, meaning I focus on creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. I see you as the expert on your own life, and I’m here to support you as you explore what you need and where you want to go; at your own pace, in your own way.
Psychoeducation
I incorporate psychoeducation into my work, which means I believe understanding why we think, feel, and react the way we do can be incredibly empowering. I’ll often share tools, concepts, or simple explanations to help make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, without all of the clinical and scientific jargon. My goal is to help you feel more informed, more confident, and better equipped to navigate life in a way that actually fits you.
