New to Grow
Throughout my career, I have enjoyed and excelled at helping to empower clients to live better more meaningful lives by helping them focus first on inner growth and self-improvement. As a Christian faith-based, bilingual and bicultural, Licensed Professional Counselor and through my private practice, my vision is to continue this movement of empowerment and self-development, by supporting client through their journey of mental, emotional and spiritual healing with the integration of clinical and Christian faith-based services.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session will include an introduction of myself as the therapist, and will also include a review clinical intake forms completed, along with discussing rights and responsibilities of both myself as the therapist and the client. We will discuss ground rules to ensure a safe therapeutic experience, then allow time for the client to ask questions and begin sharing any concerns and expectations they have about starting therapy.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Some areas of focus for my practice include parenting challenges, job-related stressors, communication issues, relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, and trauma-related challenges. I provide a safe and comfortable environment where we can work together towards developing a therapy plan that will help address your mental, emotional and spiritual needs.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I typically see clients 18 years of age and older. I am also bilingual Spanish-speaking looking to continue serving the Latino community and breaking the stigmas around receiving mental health therapy.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
As a licensed mental health clinician with 16 years of experience in the field of mental health, my first and primary area of clinical training is utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to support clients with understanding irrational thoughts, beliefs, false narratives (stinking thinking) we have mentally created, along with maladaptive behaviors/responses, and we work on identifying and creating positive beliefs systems while also identifying new healthy coping skills and behaviors to eradicate the negative belief system and negative behaviors.
Faith based therapy
I have been providing counseling services from a faith-based perspective for 9 years I use spiritual principles to guide the therapeutic process, helping clients find purpose and healing that aligns with their faith. Common faith-based techniques may include prayer, meditation, scripture study, and incorporating religious community.
