Welcome! I'm Lisa. First, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards working on improving your mental health. I know starting therapy can be scary and empowering at the same time. During sessions, I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to their mental health including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, parenting challenges and everyday stressors. I focus on helping clients develop new strategies and boundaries in order to help improve their quality of life. I treat each client as an individual as there is no "cookie cutter" way of managing each individual's stressors and challenge. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.

With a deep passion for breaking the stigma surrounding addiction and mental health, I have dedicated the last ten years to assisting individuals who grapple with the complex interplay of mental health issues and underlying substance abuse. I’ve witnessed how the societal stigma often conceals the very real barriers individuals face in their daily lives. My mission is to empower them with coping skills and strategies that allow them to embrace a life of recovery and resilience. As a therapist, I focus on guiding patients towards building essential skills to overcome their challenges. I believe that mental health issues come in myriad forms, and it is our duty to provide support, unburdened by negative stereotypes and judgment. Together, let’s shatter the silence and create a path towards hope, recovery and well-being.

Hi there! I am glad you're here. I'm a Missourian turned Mainer who is fascinated by entering into the process of change with fellow humans. Over the last 9 years I've had the privilege of providing therapy in community mental health settings, working with folks from across the country and around the globe. I made the decision to add private practice as a part of my work with Grow, to provide accessible mental health care in new ways. When I'm not in a therapy session, you might find me chasing my toddler down the beach with a good cup of coffee in hand, singing, or making a corny joke.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist with over 18 years of experience in mental health and addiction counseling field. I am licensed in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Utah, and Maine. My career has included extensive work with Veterans, Active Duty personnel, and federal employees, providing trauma informed care to those navigating the unique challenges of high stakes, high responsibility environments. I specialize in supporting neurodivergent adults, LGBTQIA+ individuals, those living with chronic illnesses, and trauma survivors as they navigate addiction, burnout, anxiety, women’s issues, and major life transitions. My approach is nonjudgmental and trauma informed, meeting clients where they are with curiosity and compassion while creating a space for authentic growth and understanding. I practice a relational and integrative approach grounded in collaboration and clinical insight. I value appropriate self disclosure when it supports the therapeutic process and use my training and lived experience to help clients develop tools that genuinely serve them. My work draws from an eclectic foundation that includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, and Somatic approaches. I also integrate alternative and mind body methods that expand healing beyond traditional talk therapy, supporting both emotional and physiological well-being. I practice from an intersectional perspective, recognizing that our identities—race, gender, sexuality, neurotype, ability, culture, and lived experience—intersect to shape how we move through the world and how the world responds to us. Healing requires honoring all of those parts. I believe neurodivergence is not something to be fixed, but understood, supported, and celebrated. Therapy is a space to learn your brain, not fight against it, to understand how it works, identify what it needs, and build systems of support that honor your authentic wiring.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience helping people heal from trauma, navigate life transitions, and reconnect with themselves in meaningful ways. Originally from Maine, my journey has taken me across the US, different countries, and through many different communities, including serving in the U.S. Air Force. These experiences continue to shape my approach—bringing structure, adaptability, and a deep respect for each person’s story. My clinical background includes extensive work with military members, veterans, first responders, and women facing anxiety, self-worth challenges, and complex relational or identity struggles. I understand what it means to carry invisible weight—and how important it is to have a safe space to unpack it. I specialize in trauma-informed care, using EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic therapy, and attachment-based approaches to support deep, lasting healing. I take a bottom-up perspective, helping clients explore how the body holds on to difficult experiences and gently work through what’s been stuck. I also integrate CBT and Emotion-Focused Therapy to support insight, emotional regulation, and self-compassion. Clients often describe me as grounding, warm, and collaborative—with just the right amount of directness. I believe healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken, but about reconnecting with your own inner strength, clarity, and capacity to grow. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck, you’re not alone. I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll move toward clarity, healing, and a stronger sense of self.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Connecticut, Maine, and New York, and PSYPACT authorized, with nearly 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I provide individual therapy for clients navigating the emotional ups and downs of other family building pathways, such as IVF, IUI, egg or sperm donation, and adoption. I also support those pursuing medically guided weight-management treatments, including bariatric surgery (i.e., gastric sleeve or bypass) and GLP-1 medications, with attention to the emotional, relational, and identity changes these experiences can bring. Through my own lived experiences, I understand how deeply personal these journeys can be—and how they may bring feelings of isolation, fear, or loss alongside hope and excitement. I use evidence-based approaches to help clients manage the identity and relational shifts, stress, uncertainty, grief, self-doubt, and adjustment to lifestyle changes associated with these medical concerns while building coping skills and emotional resilience. You don’t have to carry that alone. I am committed to creating a warm, inclusive, and affirming space where clients feel seen and supported, with particular attention to the experiences of women of color and members of the LGBTQ+ community. My goal is to help you navigate these transitions with clarity, self-trust, and emotional balance, supporting you as you work toward the life and goals that matter most to you.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by state rather than a city?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

Will my therapist take Oxford?

Yes! If you use Oxford you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Oxford you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
