I have approximately 30 years of experience in virtually all clinical settings. I began my career working in a juvenile penitentiary (referred to as a 'youth development center) and after almost 6 years, left that setting and moved on to new opportunities. Along the way, I worked with group homes, foster homes, substance abuse treatment programs, and even provided treatment in a sexual offender treatment program. In 2004 I went solely into private practice and currently operate two offices. I also provided on-site services to businesses that suffer a death or other disruptive event; I have provided over 170 of these services in four states during the last several years. While you don't need any faith to see me, I also offer Christian Counseling. Finally, I am a US Army veteran and understand the challenges and needs of veterans. I operate under a practical approach that seeks to build on a person's strengths to achieve realistic, measurable goals. I utilize primarily cognitive behavioral therapy and reality therapy to help my clients achieve their goals and to live life more fully.

I am licensed to work with those in the state of Tennessee, USA, with 12 years of professional work experience as a therapist. I have experience in helping clients with family conflicts, trauma and abuse, parenting issues, mood disorders, anxiety, & depression. During this time, I also taught parenting classes which allowed me to help parents in their relationship with their children. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). While I have been trained in various therapy techniques, I have found most relation in the Solution Focused umbrella utilizing Narrative therapy. Solution Focused therapy helps people recognize how to work towards what they want- including how Narrative therapy sees each person’s storyline from their past, separating themselves from their problem (instead of living stuck), and recognizing how they want their story to continue. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths to overcome your challenges. Different situations can take place without our ability to feel prepared. You can take time for yourself and begin processing, in a safe and secure manner, through teletherapy services.

She has published multiple articles on relationships, depression, improving well-being, thriving during and after a serious health issue and reducing acute stress response. Hi! I am Dr. Annice Overall, LCSW, DSW. Since most people ask, let's dispense with first name first. My first name is pronounced like "Janice" without the J. :-) The LCSW is Licensed Clinical Social Worker, which means I had to have a Master's Degree in Social Work (my Bachelor's was in Psychology) plus a minimum of 2000 hours of clinical supervision, before I was tested & licensed by the Department of Health. Later in my career I completed a Doctorate in Social Work in order to serve in supervisory and teaching positions. People generally describe me as a friendly, knowledgeable person who likes to help others. Basically, I am a southern country girl that went to Los Angeles to get educated, & spent an additional 12 years there learning how to live and cope with the stressors of this modern life we're living. I believe that life is hard... harder for some than others, and that most of us can use a little support at various moments along the journey.

I am a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Tennessee. I currently work full-time in a primary care medical clinic, and am doing part-time work with Grow Therapy on evenings and weekends. As a Primary Care Psychologist, I am very used to finding ways to be helpful with a very wide range of problems. I have much practice contextualing problems, and identifying mechanisms that maintain things—said differently, I look at each problem through the lens of the person’s life context (which includes many things both current and historical) and then observe how things work underneath the hood. I do this all day, every day, and it is second nature. *for a more personable view of my practice, see https://www.ferrandpsych.com/

Hello, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the states of Texas and Tennessee with 30 years of counseling and ministry experience. I began as a minister of the Gospel in the Southern Baptist tradition in 1993 working with the homeless to overcome the struggles of addiction and hopelessness in North Carolina and Tennessee. From there, I became a case manager in a rural oupatient behavioral health clinic helping the chronically mentally ill live independently outside of the institutional settings. As my family of five children grew, my wife encouraged me to join the military in 2007 and for the next 13 years we served alongside our Soldiers and their Families as a chaplain. There, I learned through experience how to work through the stress of multiple transitions, the unyeilding demands for time and energy, and the unjust nature of toxic environments. I learned how to support those who wanted to strengthen themselves and their relationships in these environments and to ultimately be at peace with who they are and who they want to be. As I have matured in my training and become licensed in marriage and family therapy, I have found that I now specialize in using Solution Focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help individuals identify their strengths and the beliefs that are guiding their behavior. With this knowledge, people can begin to choose who they want to be.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out! Do you ever have those days when things are especially difficult?? Many of the people that I meet are looking for support with mental health, substance abuse, and managing traumatic events. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I also have extensive experience supporting teenagers who have experienced trauma, which led me to become a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Currently, I work with adults and youth, and I'm a strong believer in the mental/physical health connection. I am currently a social worker for a small hospice team in my area so am comfortable having uncomfortable conversations. I believe in strengths-based recovery that looks at all the systems that can impact us. Bits and pieces of different models incorporated together tend to have the most benefit, based on the person's needs. I have seen so many great successes! I enjoy supporting the people I work with and going through their journey with them. I am currently licensed in both IL and TN. When I am not in sessions, you will find me hiking with the doggos, road-tripping in the Jeep, and going into "Mom Mode" with my three kids. I look forward to connecting with you :)

Since then I have been working on myself as a client as well as acquiring a licensure to help others, including teens, adults and families. I focus on solution based and non-judgmental cognitive therapy. I believe understanding a problem is not the end of the work. The action we take to support a positive change... is what changes lives. And while I have experienced that in some very important areas... I continue to grow... daily. I choose to be transparent about that because I believe it is important to the work that my clients know I understand how it feels to be in their chair. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, doubt, guilt, grief, or all of the above, I believe I can help you.

Hello, and thank you for reading my bio! Are you providing care for a loved one? Do you sometimes feel like you shouldn’t feel how you're feeling; like you need to just “suck it up”? Do you wish you had someone who would focus solely on you? I have specialized in helping people who are struggling with life transitions, grief, and overwhelm for over 20 years. For the past 10 years, I have worked primarily with older adults and with family caregivers, many of whom are caring for a family member with dementia or other serious illness. I also work with older adults who have been diagnosed with early stage dementia or other serious diagnoses to work through grief and develop coping skills. While I do use evidence-based therapeutic approaches, I also like to explore how your interests like art, journaling, yoga, meditation, humor, music, etc., can be incorporated into an overall plan for wellness. My goal is to help you develop the tools and skills you need to feel more empowered and at peace in your life.

My first job out of grad school was with juvenile sex offenders - which helped me build my "therapy toolbox" quickly.

Hello there! I'm Patrick Powell. I think of myself as a practitioner, counselor educator, and researcher. I work with children, adults, couples, and families. I think of counseling as a process where you and I build a relationship and work together to address whatever issues are impacting you. I'm a holistic counselor, meaning that I will explore multiple aspects of your life, including how you engage socially, how you think about situations, how you manage or express your emotions, your behaviors and skills, the quality of your interactions with family and friends, and several other areas of funcitoning. I'm also a strength-based counselor. I believe that we all have untapped resources, both internal and external, that we can use to make our lives better. I have worked in non-profit and two private practice environments. In terms of my credentials, I received a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling and a Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. Along with clinical practice, I have served as a faculty member in clinical mental health counseling programs since 2011. I train future generations of counselors to work with people. I hold several licenses and certifications. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor as well as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee. I am also a Qualified Supervisor in Florida. I have published several manuscripts, a book on the assessment and treatment of trauma and I have current works in press. I also often deliver presentations on process addictions and other topics at the SACES and ACA conventions.

As a trauma therapist, I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples and heal from past experiences that have caused emotional pain and distress. With a compassionate and non-judgmental approach, I provide a safe space for clients to explore their feelings and develop coping strategies to manage symptoms of trauma. I have extensive training and experience in evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. My goal is to empower clients to reclaim their lives and move forward with confidence and resilience. As a trauma therapist, I understand that trauma can have a profound impact on an individual's mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It can manifest in a variety of ways, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other mental health conditions. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy and respect for the client's unique experiences and needs. I believe that healing from trauma involves addressing both the symptoms and underlying causes of distress. In therapy, I work collaboratively with clients to identify triggers, develop coping strategies, and process painful memories in a safe and supportive environment. I also recognize the importance of building resilience and promoting self-care, which may include mindfulness practices, stress reduction techniques, and self-compassion. My training and experience have equipped me to work with a diverse range of clients, including those who have experienced complex trauma, childhood abuse, sexual assault, and other traumatic events. I am committed to providing evidence-based treatments that are tailored to each client's specific needs and goals. My ultimate goal is to help clients reclaim their lives, improve their relationships, and find meaning and purpose in their experiences.
