What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start to get to know each other, check the vibes, and discuss your needs and expectations. This will help us create a tailored plan for to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have the ability to develop strong relationships with various types of clients and approach each individual where they are in their current need and/or desire. I strive to wrap each client in warmth, friendliness, understanding, and affirmation of emotions. I also enjoy and embrace different experiences and love learning.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love to work with various types of clients but do have a special place in my heart for underserved, disenfranchised, and often threatened populations. I am the adult child of an alcoholic and have many years of experience and education within the addiction specialty and population. I also have experience working with the corrections field and am a believer in the beauty and value of a person beyond their flaws and mistakes. I am also a firm believer in the individual rights of women and work to empower, educate, and support autonomy, a staunch LGBTQIA+ ally, and work to affirm Trans clients and protect and validate their identities.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

As a CCTP (clinically certified trauma professional) I use this method to create an atmosphere of physical, psychological, and emotional safety to aid engagement in services to allow for progress to occur.

Humanistic

Based in Rogerian tenants, as a humanistic clinician, my goal is to focus on a person’s individual nature, rather than assuming that groups of people with similar characteristics have the same concerns. With consideration of the whole person, especially their positive characteristics and potential for growth, not only from their professional viewpoint but from a client’s own personal sense of their behavior is examined. The emphasis in sessions is on a person’s positive traits and behaviors and developing their ability to use their instincts to find wisdom, growth, healing, and fulfillment.

Eclectic

As an integrative clinician, I combine different evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavior therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), etc. in a flexible and multifaceted approach to address each individual client's needs.

Attachment-based

This method is used to help clients explore their past attachment experiences to uncover patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may have developed as a result. By gaining insight into these patterns, clients are better equipped to make meaningful changes and create healthier relationships in their lives.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting works by identifying places in the body where trauma exists to process it and release any emotional or physical pain associated with the trauma.
