Therapy is a work of my heart. I have over 20 years of experience as a therapist and consider it a privilege for individuals to share their stories, often including their pain as well. I value individuals who take the courageous step of coming to therapy for the first time or starting anew with me. I am curious by nature and provide space for people to share their stories; I may also ask questions to delve a little deeper. I value humor in the healing process. When it's appropriate, I may say something to lighten the mood, as therapy can be difficult at times. My faith shapes my life and gives me hope, and I hold hope for every person I meet as I believe they are valuable, resilient, and capable of change.

Everyone wants to be themselves, to be “seen,” and to be valued for their uniqueness. We’re wired to need safe and affirming relationships and connections. When we’re struggling, it’s usually because something has gotten in the way — not because we’re somehow “defective” or “flawed.” I value authenticity, and strive to help clients feel and honor emotions that may seem “wrong” or unacceptable. I’ve worked extensively with college students, survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence, adults with ADHD and autism, couples, and individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness. I’m a licensed psychologist who began my career as a social worker, and see myself not only as a therapist, but also an advocate.

Hey! I am Tiffany, and I want to thank you for checking out my bio! I am a LCSW with over 25 years of clinical experience. I and dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and discover healthier ways of living. I am licensed in 2 states (Tennessee and Florida). I bring both depth of clinical expertise and a compassionate, client-centered approach to my work. I am very involved with Neuroscience and how our brains are wired, because once we understand that, changing unwanted patterns becomes much easier. Over the years, I have witnessed how therapy can bring meaningful change to people's lives and help them break free from patterns that hold them back, heal from past wounds, and build stronger relationships with themselves and others. My goal is to equip clients with the tools, insights, and the healing that they need to experience lasting growth, resilience, and greater well-being.

I am a licensed therapist dedicated to helping adults navigate life’s challenges with clarity, confidence, and compassion. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. I believe everyone has the capacity for growth, healing, and fulfillment, and therapy can be a powerful step toward reaching that potential. I work with women and men who are managing stress, anxiety, perfectionism, or significant life transitions such as parenthood, career shifts, or relationship changes. Many of my clients are striving to balance multiple roles while also wanting to prioritize their own happiness and well-being. In our work together, I may use different modalities such psychodynamic, cognitive, humanistic, and group therapy to meet each client’s unique needs. We may explore underlying patterns, identify and shift unhelpful thought processes, and build on existing strengths. My role is to support clients in gaining insight, developing effective coping tools, and creating healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and relating. Clients often leave therapy with a deeper sense of self, improved resilience, and the confidence to make meaningful changes. My mission is to empower both women and men to move beyond what holds them back and build lives of balance, purpose, and fulfillment.

It's often difficult to know what you want and to pursue what you want. Especially, if broken patterns and negative family cycles are making you feel stagnant. There is an excitement that comes from building your own self-assurance and confidence as you stand securely in the story you want to live. Sometimes we wait to change our story because we don't feel ready. My hope is that we can all have the wisdom and courage to explore ourselves with compassion so that we can better love ourselves and love others. Let's create a foundation that allows us to live balanced personally, professionally, and relationally.

Welcome! I'm Melissa. Do you feel anxious, troubled, or unhappy most days? Do you simply want someone to listen, understand, and help? I'm in recovery for alcohol use disorder and am a combat veteran. I've had to learn coping skills or lose everything. I understand anxiety and depression, which helps me provide a compassionate, collaborative, and grounded approach. I specialize in helping individuals develop coping skills that can be used in real-time to alleviate negative moods and improve daily functioning. Whether you're facing a major life transition or seeking to learn coping skills, I'm here to walk with you through the process. Healing isn't linear, and therapy should be tailored to your unique goals and strengths. I can help you better understand the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors: "What makes you tick?" Together, we can identify negative thinking and reshape it in a way that changes how you feel. I can help you challenge negative thoughts and identify more helpful/realistic thoughts. This will help you better enjoy your life because you will view it more positively. We'll create long-term change with tools such as quick and easy mental exercises. I also integrate journaling, mindfulness exercises, and stress-reduction techniques to support positive outcomes. Together, we can identify healthy coping skills that actually work. You deserve a life that brings you contentment and joy. Let's work together on this journey of healing.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of experience helping clients. I am a proud ‘Appalachian-American’ that was born and raised deep in the mountains of Upper Northeast TN. Although many of my personal life experiences are about what one would expect of someone growing up in East TN (cue banjo music🪕 ), my work experiences have been vastly different. I have been fortunate to get to work with individuals from all walks of life. I have worked with clients from preschool to post retirement. Thanks to the internet I have been able to help individuals across the globe, from various cultures, diverse religious beliefs, race, gender spectrums, socioeconomic status, etc. One thing I have learned in my work with all of these individuals is that although each of their stories are unique, ultimately, they all seek/want the same core things. I think much of my success in working with a wide assortment of clients is that I attempt to be open, understanding, curious and cultivate a nonjudgmental atmosphere for our sessions. The working relationship between a therapist and their client is a key factor to client’s achieving treatment goals.

I have approximately 30 years of experience in virtually all clinical settings. I began my career working in a juvenile penitentiary (referred to as a 'youth development center) and after almost 6 years, left that setting and moved on to new opportunities. Along the way, I worked with group homes, foster homes, substance abuse treatment programs, and even provided treatment in a sexual offender treatment program. In 2004 I went solely into private practice and currently operate two offices. I also provided on-site services to businesses that suffer a death or other disruptive event; I have provided over 170 of these services in four states during the last several years. While you don't need any faith to see me, I also offer Christian Counseling. Finally, I am a US Army veteran and understand the challenges and needs of veterans. I operate under a practical approach that seeks to build on a person's strengths to achieve realistic, measurable goals. I utilize primarily cognitive behavioral therapy and reality therapy to help my clients achieve their goals and to live life more fully.

Hello! I am so glad you have made the decision towards making positive changes for yourself. I specialize in helping my clients who are struggling to manage emotions and behaviors that are interfering with their daily functioning in areas such as personal relationships, work, parenting, school, etc. These struggles may be the result of a single event that threatened survival, like a car accident, or from a chronic history of trauma and loss. Or maybe one struggles to manage their emotions and behaviors but they do not understand why. Maybe a person's life seems pretty good or even great. But they're puzzled as to why they feel the way they do. One may have thought "I have no reason to feel this way." I invite you to explore with me the possible origins of these thoughts and feelings. There are times we all need help and support.

Starting therapy is a brave step, and I want you to feel seen, supported, and respected as you take it. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee, I offer both in-person and telehealth services for adults who are navigating life’s challenges and transitions. My approach is warm, practical, and grounded in proven methods like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). These approaches help clients notice and work through unhelpful thoughts and emotions, while also clarifying what truly matters most to them. I believe lasting change happens when we align decisions and behaviors with our values, even when life feels heavy or uncertain. I often work with women’s issues, grief, anxiety, and the unique dynamics of blended families. Whether you’re adjusting to a new season of life, carrying the weight of loss, or feeling stuck in old patterns, my goal is to help you discover tools, insights, and courage to move forward. Therapy with me isn’t about “fixing” who you are—it’s about building resilience, deepening self-acceptance, and creating a more meaningful life. Clients describe my style as compassionate yet straightforward. I will encourage you, but I will also gently challenge you when needed, because I believe growth often happens at the edge of our comfort zones. My counseling room—whether on a porch swing in East Tennessee or on a telehealth screen—is a safe and steady space for you to bring your whole self. If you’re ready to explore new ways of coping, connect more deeply with your values, and take steps toward the life you want, I would be honored to walk with you on that journey.

Hi, I'm Anna. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I believe therapy should feel like a deep breath--not another thing to brace yourself for. In my office, you can exhale. You don't have to perform or polish anything up. I offer a space that's calm, honest, and rooted in trust--where it's okay to be messy, uncertain, angry, shut down, or just plain exhausted. You have a story and I'm here to help you heal. When I'm not in session, you'll usually find me making jewelry, lost in a craft project, or hanging out with my two cats (who definitely run the house) or chilling in nature. If you're looking for a grounded, real therapist to walk with you through the hard stuff--I'd be honored to work with you.

As an American Family Therapist, I work from a systemic perspective, focusing on the entire family unit rather than just the individual. My goal is to help families uncover and understand deep-rooted patterns and issues that interfere with healthy communication and connection. Through this process, I support each member in developing more effective ways of relating, resolving conflict, and fostering emotional safety with the family system. I primarily use Dialectical Behavior Therapy and view my work through that lens. This means focusing on mindfulness, expanding tolerance for discomfort, increasing effectiveness in relationships and strengthening emotional regulation. When challenges arise in therapy, I often find that the root of the issue can be addressed through one of these core areas. For clients struggling with post-traumatic stress injuries-particularly common in military populations-I also incorporate Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help them reframe and work through trauma-related beliefs. My approach is structured, evidence-based, and tailored to the needs of each individual or family.

I have been treating clients through talk therapy for the past 25 years. I have worked with end of life issues through hospice, with children and adolescents struggling with learning and mental health issues, and most recently with adults who seek help to relieve symptoms of mood, anxiety and trauma disorders. I try to move at the clients pace and have been told that I am a good listener, and that people find relief in sharing their life stories with me.

I specialize in helping women navigate the mental and emotional impact of perimenopause and menopause because it’s about a lot more than hot flashes. This chapter of life often brings heightened anxiety, mood swings, self-doubt, and relationship strain, all while society tells you to “just push through it.” I help women take back control by examining the impact of hormonal changes, internal pressures (like relentless, negative self-talk), and external stressors (like toxic relationships and unrealistic expectations). Together, we replace what’s no longer working with strategies that empower you to feel grounded, capable, and more like yourself again. I firmly believe that the way you speak to yourself shapes how you handle the pressures of midlife — and let’s be honest, women are often their own harshest critics. It’s time to rewrite that inner narrative.

Welcome! You feeling stuck? Exploring what it means to live authentically? A woman seeking to create deeper/improved connections in relationships or your marriage, a mother striving for balance, or someone navigating a specific challenge. If so, I’d love to help. I’m Jenny, a 43y/o Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience. I grew up in Middle Tennessee, surrounded by animals and Faith. Parents owned veterinary practices, mom served as a youth director, instilling in me a love for animals and a strong Christian Faith. Been married 20 years to a wonderfully supportive husband. Marriage can be challenging, but I believe it’s one of life’s most rewarding journeys when approached with unconditional love and commitment. Together, we’ve weathered highs and lows, and through it all, I’ve learned every challenge is an opportunity for growth. Blessed with two intelligent and vibrant daughters who keep life interesting and continually teach me about resilience, perspective, and love. Since early teen, I’ve been “go-to” person for friends and family during struggles, which inspired my passion for counseling. Hold Bachelor’s in Psychology from University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and Master’s in Counseling and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College. I’ve worked in diverse mental health settings, including women’s prisons, crisis units, inpatient, outpatient, substance abuse, and private practice. These experiences have equipped me to work with a diverse range of clients and issues. Rest assured—nothing you share will shock me! I believe you are your own best counselor and know yourself best. My role is to guide you, provide reassurance, and equip you with tools to help you navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience. Together, we’ll create a safe and meaningful space to process your experiences, explore solutions, and rediscover your balance. Ready to embrace growth and find your balance? I’d be honored to support you on this journey!

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Tennessee rather than a city like Nashville?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Tennessee from Memphis to Knoxville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Tennessee.

Will my therapist take Blue Cross Blue Shield?

Yes! If you use Blue Cross Blue Shield you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Blue Cross Blue Shield you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
