New to Grow
Hi I am Kendra Simmons. Taking the first step toward improving your mental wellness is something to be proud of. Therapy can feel intimidating, especially when it’s misunderstood as a sign that something is “wrong.” In truth, it’s a healthy and proactive way to care for yourself. Everyone deserves a safe place to explore their experiences, heal, and find clarity. Whether you’re preparing for marriage, feeling overwhelmed in your relationship, navigating blended family dynamics, or managing personal struggles, I offer personalized support to help you move forward. My work centers on open communication, mutual trust, and meaningful understanding, empowering you to grow through every season of life.
Our first session together is a space for me to understand what has been weighing on you and where you feel stuck. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to help me step into your world and gain a clear picture of what you’re facing. You may notice me writing as we talk—this helps me capture the important details you share, but you’re always welcome to ask me to pause if it feels distracting. After gathering information, I’ll share a bit about myself, how I use our therapeutic space, and how my office operates. You’re free to ask questions at any point. When our time ends, you decide how you’d like to move forward—whether that means beginning counseling with me or taking time to think about your next steps.
I am a therapist who has lived through many of the same challenges my clients face—broken relationships, blended family dynamics, parental conflict, health obstacles, career transitions, and the journey of rediscovering purpose. Because of this, I enter the room with authenticity, compassion, empathy, and deep gratitude for the trust you place in me. Together, we will clarify your goals, identify your strengths, and use them to build practical tools that help you move forward with confidence.
I specialize in supporting traditional couples—whether premarital or married—who want to strengthen communication, improve conflict skills, and deepen emotional closeness as they build a healthy marriage and family. I also work extensively with blended and stepfamily couples navigating the unique challenges of merging finances, parenting styles, family rituals, and household expectations. In addition, I have experience working with individual women struggling with self‑esteem, anxiety, relationship patterns, or life changes and are seeking clarity, confidence, and emotional balance.
