I have dedicated more than 30 years of my life to the helping profession of Social Work. I have worked tirelessly to advocate for the poor, elderly, disabled and those struggling with substance use and mental health challenges. I prefer to be in the present, listen to the client and partner with them to come up with a plan to meet their unique set of challenges and opportunities, not just just meet short term goals but make therapy a way to teach long term ways of coping that aid in meeting challenges in the future and not dependent on the therapist but through inner strengths that are fostered in therapy as ways to build up self-esteem, cultural pride and self worth.

Hi there! It's so nice to virtually meet you - I don't tend to enjoy small talk and I don't find credentials to be all that interesting (LCSW in TN), so I am going to tell you some facts about myself. I believe the most important part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship, so if we have similar interests and/or values, we may be a good fit. Here we go: - I am an unapologetic Swiftie - I hand out book recommendations and quotes like they're candy - I have a deep passion for travel - and especially get a kick out of doing it on a budget - I am a bit of a personal finance nerd, to the point of getting a certificate in Financial Social Work (that's right- that means we can work on your finances together!) - I am a big fan of social justice and human rights - I have two dogs - a chocolate lab and a boxer - I enjoy getting outdoors and into the backcountry - I always get my daily dose of reality tv Here is one of my favorite quotes: "These are the words I want on my gravestone: that I was a helper, and that I danced." I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who is trauma-informed and deeply passionate about the healing that can take place within the therapeutic relationship. I believe therapy can be truly life-changing, and it continues to amaze me what can unfold in the course of a single hour when someone feels safe, seen, and supported. At the heart of my work is the belief that life is about connection—that relationships are what give our lives meaning and are often the reason we get up each day, whether those connections are with partners, family, friends, or ourselves. My goal is to help clients strengthen these relationships, heal from past wounds, and experience greater emotional safety, understanding, and fulfillment.

Hey I'm Mark! I live in Nashville, Tennessee and I've been in the mental health field for 16 years. I want to break down a few walls. I am gay, I have ADHD, and am a survivor of religious trauma. I am secular and spiritual. I work with a lot of clients that share these commonalities. My main and favorite approach to the healing process is Internal Family Systems. I've worked in a variety of settings from outpatient counseling centers to acute emergency rooms and psychiatric hospitals. Many of my clients may describe me as goal directed and liken me to a coach. I utilize evidence based theories and am well versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Attachment Based models. These three theories together are power house combination when it comes to understanding the universal struggle of one's suffering. They overlap together to provide a foundation for understanding the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors (CBT) to map out the many parts of self (IFS). Many parts are acting out of fear and getting you stuck in relational loops (Attachment Model). My goal is to help you wake up and remember that you are your own healing agent. My motto is: 🌀 Flow like the river 💗 Act from love not fear 🙏 Be a Bodhisattva.

I’m a licensed psychologist (PhD) specializing in autism, ADHD, and complex patterns in both children and adults. I work with thoughtful individuals and parents who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or like something isn’t fully adding up—especially when traditional approaches haven’t helped. My approach is warm, direct, and insight-driven. I don’t just listen—I help you understand patterns, make sense of what’s going on, and figure out what actually works for your brain (or your child’s). I’m neurodiversity-affirming and experienced in differentiating anxiety, burnout, ADHD, and sensory or social overwhelm. With parents, I focus on helping you understand your child more clearly and respond in ways that actually work—so things feel more manageable at home. Hello and welcome. It means a lot that you’ve taken this step. Every person carries such a unique story shaped by resilience and strength. Sometimes, those stories can feel heavy or overwhelming, and we may find ourselves needing a space to breathe and process. My hope is to create a safe and supportive environment where you feel heard and empowered to heal. In our work together, I take a compassionate and collaborative approach that meets you where you are, supporting you in working through current challenges while building toward the future that is possible. I typically practice in the Solution-Focused umbrella, incorporating Narrative Therapy into my work. Solution-Focused Therapy helps you identify your strengths and move toward your goals; while Narrative Therapy encourages exploring one’s personal story from the past, separating the individual from their problems, and envisioning how you want your story to continue. My experience consists of helping clients with family conflicts, trauma and abuse, parenting issues, mood disorders, anxiety, and depression. I have taught parenting classes for many years, which allowed me to help parents strengthen their relationships with their children and build more confident, nurturing connections. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the challenges families and individuals face, and reinforced my commitment to supporting each person’s unique journey toward healing and growth. I have over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, with 13 of those years dedicated to being a therapist. I am licensed to provide therapy to individuals across the state of Tennessee. It’s truly an honor to support people as they reconnect with themselves, rediscover hope, and move toward healing. Supporting others through life’s challenges is deeply fulfilling work, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be present with you on your journey.

Welcome! I'm in recovery from alcohol use disorder, and I'm a combat veteran. Learning to cope wasn't optional for me; it was survival, and that experience shapes how I show up for you now. I understand anxiety and depression from the inside, and I bring a grounded, no-judgment approach to every session. Whether you're facing a major life transition or seeking to learn coping skills, I'm here to walk with you through the process. Healing isn't linear, and I don't expect it to be. Together we'll build coping skills you can actually use in the moment, whether that's through journaling, mindfulness, cognitive exercises, or simply learning to catch the thoughts that used to run the show. Together, we can identify negative thinking and reshape it in a way that changes how you feel. I can help you challenge negative thoughts and identify more helpful/realistic thoughts. This will help you better enjoy your life because you will view it more positively. You deserve a life that brings you contentment and joy. Let's work together on this journey of healing.

I work with people whose lives have become complicated, heavy, chaotic, or stuck — often after years of stress, addiction, trauma, relationship problems, major life transitions, or simply trying to survive the best way they knew how. My approach is direct, grounded, and practical. I believe meaningful change comes from honest self-examination, healthier behaviors, and learning how to live in a way that is both productive and emotionally sustainable. Therapy with me is not about pretending life is easy or offering rehearsed positivity. It is about building a real therapeutic relationship where people can reduce the noise, face difficult truths without shame, and develop the tools, structure, and perspective needed to create a more purposeful and satisfying life.

Hi, I'm Anna. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I believe therapy should feel like a deep breath--not another thing to brace yourself for. In my office, you can exhale. You don't have to perform or polish anything up. I offer a space that's calm, honest, and rooted in trust--where it's okay to be messy, uncertain, angry, shut down, or just plain exhausted. You have a story and I'm here to help you heal. When I'm not in session, you'll usually find me making jewelry, lost in a craft project, or hanging out with my two cats (who definitely run the house) or chilling in nature. If you're looking for a grounded, real therapist to walk with you through the hard stuff--I'd be honored to work with you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years of experience helping clients. I am a proud ‘Appalachian-American’ that was born and raised deep in the mountains of Upper Northeast TN. Although many of my personal life experiences are about what one would expect of someone growing up in East TN (cue BBQ ribs & banjo music🪕), my work experience have been vastly different. I have been quite fortunate to get to work with individuals from quite literally all walks of life. I have worked with clients from preschool to post retirement. Thanks to the internet I have been able to help individuals across the globe, from various cultures, diverse religious beliefs, race, gender spectrums, socioeconomic status, etc. One thing I have learned in my work with all of these individuals is that although each of their stories are unique, ultimately, they all seek/want the same core things. I think much of my success in working with a wide assortment of clients is that I attempt to be open, understanding, curious and cultivate a nonjudgmental atmosphere for our sessions. The working relationship between a therapist and their client is a key factor to client’s achieving treatment goals.

Katherine has worked with these youth and their families to help mend the ties that substance use has broken. Before starting her own practice, Katherine was a school social worker for youth and young adults with emotional, cognitive and other health impairments.

You may be managing a demanding career, striving to perform at your best as a student-athlete, or navigating a major life transition while feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or burned out. You do not have to work through these challenges alone. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can step away from outside pressures, focus on yourself, and develop practical strategies for moving forward. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I take a holistic approach to therapy. I recognize that mental health is connected to your relationships, physical well-being, environment, values, experiences, and personal goals. My style is warm, collaborative, and practical, drawing from cognitive behavioral, strengths-based, and solution-focused approaches to create therapy that fits your individual needs. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship concerns, performance pressure, and life transitions. Together, we will identify the patterns affecting your well-being, strengthen your coping skills, build confidence and resilience, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. My goal is to help you thrive personally and professionally—not simply manage symptoms. I am also pursuing a Doctor of Social Work (DSW), continuing to expand my expertise in advanced clinical practice, leadership, and whole-person care.

I became a therapist simply because I’ve always wanted to help people. I've seen firsthand the incredible power of connection and how transformative it can be to have a non-judgmental, unbiased person who truly listens to you in therapy. That kind of support creates a space for growth and healing, and it’s something I’m passionate about offering to others. Being able to witness someone’s journey as they feel heard and understood is one of the most rewarding parts of this work. Growing up, I struggled with feeling like I belonged and often felt inadequate. Those experiences made me realize how important it is to have a safe space where you can be heard. I’m truly honored to be by someone’s side as they take strides toward becoming the best version of themselves and improving their lives. Everyone deserves that kind of support, and I’m grateful to offer it. Hi, I’m Kaja Switalska, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in helping adults, with particular focus on college-aged individuals, manage anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and adjustment issues. I aim to provide a welcoming, judgment-free space where you can feel heard. I often use humor to keep things light while also addressing real challenges. In our first sessions, we’ll get to know your unique needs and develop attainable goals. My approach blends CBT, mindfulness, solution-focused strategies, and motivational interviewing.

You appear calm and put together on the outside, internally you feel overwhelmed and exhausted. You've been doing everything you can to keep things together so no one notices how much you're struggling, but lately it feels harder to manage. You're doing your best to hold on, yet you worry that one more stressful situation could push you past your limit. You continue to smile, show up, and tell yourself you're okay, even when deep down you know you're not. Because you look “fine” to others, people may not realize how heavy things have become for you. You often minimize your own pain by comparing yourself to others, convincing yourself that you should just be grateful because “others have it worse.” As a result, prioritizing your emotional well-being can feel selfish or undeserved. If this describes you, and you are ready to stop overthinking, you are no longer willing to put your own needs on the backburner, you are ready to silence the inner critic, work on your personal and/or professional relationships, and you want to stop just going through the motions, we should talk. I have the credentials that every other therapist has earned, representing the commitment of a competent practitioner. However, its important to note that my caring coupled with my competence makes me who I am. I am a person of faith, wife (retired military veteran) mother, grandmother, and dog mom. I've navigated many seasons of life overcoming grief and loss, divorce, careers, the sandwich generation (caring for aging parents and small children), financial challenges, and blending a family. All the makings for stress, anxiety, and depression. During these and other dark seasons, it was the professional help holding my hand through the darkness until I could see the light again. Let's walk together to the light.

Hello! I am an LCSW based in Northeast TN. I have worked in various therapeutic roles over the years, but my main love is crisis work. I find it an honor to help people who are going through the hardest time of their life and be able to walk through everything with them. In that same vein, I am working on getting trained in EMDR and brainspotting, so I can more effectively treat trauma.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
