Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who graduated in 2009 from a very small college in Pennsylvania. I have been working mainly with adults who are living with anxiety, depression, and trauma. My focus is to help people live their best life. I do this through the therapy process, but I also try to include humor in our sessions.
In our first session together, there is some paperwork! I tried to get through the things that I need to in a gentle and caring way and allow my client to speak their truth and feel heard. This first session also helps us map out where we’re going to go in future sessions.
I think the amount of time I have been a therapist has really given me a great perspective on people. I try very hard to be warm, open and nonjudgmental to every person. I think everyone has a story to tell and I feel very lucky that I am the one many people choose to tell their story to.
I have used cognitive behavioral therapy throughout my years as a social worker. I find clients respond well and it makes for streamlined visits.
I tend to go where my clients go in therapy. There are some days where I am using cognitive behavioral therapy and others where I am using electrical behavioral therapy or mindfulness. It just depends!
