I am a licensed therapist with over 7 years of experience specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), couples counseling, and Christian counseling. My passion is helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, emotional resilience, and purpose. In my work with individuals, I primarily use CBT to help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that impact their mood and behavior. I believe in a practical, goal-oriented approach that equips clients with tools they can apply in everyday life, whether they're dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, or life transitions. My sessions are collaborative and supportive, creating a space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow. With couples, I focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and resolving conflict in ways that foster deeper connection. I draw from evidence-based methods like the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, tailoring the process to fit each couple’s unique dynamic. For those who desire a faith-based approach, I also offer Christian counseling. I integrate biblical principles, prayer, and spiritual reflection into the therapeutic process when appropriate. This allows for holistic healing that honors both emotional and spiritual needs, offering hope and a stronger sense of purpose. What sets my practice apart is my commitment to creating a warm, judgment-free environment where real change can take place. I see therapy as a partnership—one that honors your story, builds on your strengths, and supports you in becoming the person or couple you’re called to be. Whether you’re facing a specific struggle or simply seeking to grow, I’m here to walk with you through the process. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to go through it alone.

Hi, I am a Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in North Carolina. I received my degree from Saybrook University in California and have been practicing for the past 15 years. I have specialized training in Somatic Experiencing and Attachment Therapy. I work with adults to resolve symptoms of stress, shock, and trauma that accumulate in our bodies and nervous systems transforming patterns that get stuck and impact our daily life. I support clients in bringing their nervous systems back into balance getting out of fight, flight and freeze to strengthen one's sense of safety, resourcefulness and resilience in the world. Some of the techniques I use are helping clients slow down and attune to what is happening in their bodies. I also work with clients on "resourcing" or finding tools to help them self soothe when they are feeling emotionally overloaded.

Hello, I am a licensed professional therapist in North Carolina. My experience has centered on working with diverse populations, from military-affiliated, college, and community behavioral health and private practice. Working within these settings has allowed my involvement with various ages, genders, cultures, and life experiences. My theoretical orientation is Constructivism; therefore, I need to understand my client's life perspectives and how that has influenced their worldview. In working with clients, I also practice an integrated approach using constructivism, person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, solution-focused therapies, and others. Person-centered focuses on the client and allows the client to process feelings and thoughts in a non-judgmental environment with unconditional positive regard. Cognitive-behavioral therapy focuses on the role of thinking in the process of influencing a person's feelings of well-being and how controlling thoughts can affect mental health. This approach maintains the link between emotions and behaviors in the cognitive process. The humanistic therapeutic method emphasizes the counseling relationship and the importance of quality, genuineness, positive regard, and empathy in the counseling relationship. Solution-focused therapy utilizes skills already present to help navigate current concerns, focusing on being present and checking facts on emotions and feelings that might direct reactive responses to stressors. Constructivism proves the space for cultural humility and openness to worldviews I might not have had the privilege to interact with previously.

Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counsellor (LCMHC) currently serving both North and South Carolina. I have utilized my Masters of Counseling in practice for 8 years. I've spent over 12 years as a Protective Services Social Worker and in that time I had the privilege to serve many people in many walks of life. That experience has given me a unique talent for connecting with people. I enjoy assisting older and young adults struggling with life, relationship and career stress, and others just finding it difficult to become the best versions of themselves.

I have spent the past 28 years working in the field of mental health and the last 13 years operating my own private practice, where I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals on their journey toward healing and growth. My work is rooted in evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also incorporating innovative and holistic techniques that meet each client where they are. Beyond my professional role, I’ve been married for 20 years and am a proud mother of two sons, ages 18 and 11. These life experiences have given me a deep understanding of the joys and challenges of relationships, parenting, and balancing personal growth with everyday responsibilities. I believe that even life’s hardest seasons carry valuable lessons, and my mission is to help clients uncover those lessons, break through barriers, and step into their most authentic and empowered selves.

I’m a licensed clinical mental health counselor. My approach is warm, person-centered, and grounded in empathy, honesty, and collaboration. I work with individuals and couples navigating life transitions, trauma, grief, anxiety, relationship issues, and identity-related challenges. My goal is to help each client feel seen, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes. With over a decade of experience, I specialize in trauma-informed care, drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I’m also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which allows me to help clients process and heal from past trauma in a safe and structured way. Before counseling, I worked in nursing, where I saw firsthand the impact of unaddressed emotional pain. That insight continues to shape my commitment to holistic, compassionate care. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready to grow, I’m here to walk alongside you with curiosity and care. At R&R Counseling, I strive to create a space where you can breathe, reflect, and take steps toward the life you want. Therapy isn’t about fixing you, it’s about rediscovering your strength.

I'm a doctoral-level CBT practitioner who specializes in men's issues, though I have experience treating a large breadth of mental health concerns with diverse clientele. My style is laid back and I prioritize strong therapeutic relationships with all of my clients to serve as springboards for the changes they are hoping to make. A primary goal is to help minimize power dynamics to foster an environment in which clients feel comfortable taking risks and sharing freely. Additionally, I actively emphasize and leverage clients' innate strengths as vehicles through which to reach treatment goals.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by North Carolina rather than a city like Charlotte?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across North Carolina from Raleigh to Greensboro! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in North Carolina.

Will my therapist take Blue Cross Blue Shield?

Yes! If you use Blue Cross Blue Shield you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Blue Cross Blue Shield you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
