LCMHC, 28 years of experience
I have spent the past 28 years working in the field of mental health and the last 13 years operating my own private practice, where I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals on their journey toward healing and growth. My work is rooted in evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also incorporating innovative and holistic techniques that meet each client where they are. Beyond my professional role, I’ve been married for 20 years and am a proud mother of two sons, ages 18 and 11. These life experiences have given me a deep understanding of the joys and challenges of relationships, parenting, and balancing personal growth with everyday responsibilities. I believe that even life’s hardest seasons carry valuable lessons, and my mission is to help clients uncover those lessons, break through barriers, and step into their most authentic and empowered selves.
In our first session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where they feel heard and valued. We will start by discussing your primary concerns, goals, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. I’ll ask questions to get to know you better, including your background, current challenges, and any previous experience with treatment. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about my approach and ensure it feels like a good fit. Together, we’ll outline a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and set initial goals for our work. My priority is to create a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing and empowered to take the first steps toward positive change.
For over two decades, I have been deeply immersed in mental health, constantly evolving my approach to meet the multifaceted needs of those I serve. Among my most defining strengths is my innate ability to discern the core roots of challenges, going beyond surface-level symptoms to unearth underlying beliefs and patterns. My approach is compassionate and innovative; I infuse traditional therapeutic methods with pioneering modalities such as Frequency and Virtual Reality Therapy. This unique blend ensures that every session is not just about addressing concerns but about holistic growth and empowerment. My niche lies in working with individuals determined to break free from limiting beliefs and aspire for transformative personal growth. The core of my work revolves around empowering you to face fears and challenges and to harness life's experiences as vessels of wisdom. I specialize in providing tailored, cutting-edge modalities, ensuring you're equipped with the best tools for your journey. When you choose to work with me, you're not just selecting a therapist; you're partnering with a dedicated advocate who is fervently passionate about guiding you toward becoming the best version of yourself.
I have a deep-seated passion and specialized focus on supporting the often underserved population of mothers who find themselves on the brink of burnout. In their earnest commitment to their families, many mothers often feel isolated, akin to being on an island, managing life's multifaceted demands. It can be overwhelming to seek that elusive equilibrium between personal needs and familial responsibilities. My therapeutic approach is designed to provide a sanctuary for these mothers, offering tools and strategies to reclaim their sense of self, achieve work-life balance, and navigate the challenges of motherhood with grace, resilience, and empowerment.
Experience with CBT: In my practice, I have extensive experience using CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs that contribute to their emotional distress or maladaptive behaviors. I have worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and self-esteem issues, applying CBT to foster insight, self-awareness, and actionable change. I adapt CBT techniques through telehealth to engage clients effectively, using interactive tools such as shared worksheets, guided thought records, and virtual whiteboards. How I use CBT in my practice: I use CBT to help clients recognize how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. Together, we explore thought patterns and identify opportunities for healthier coping strategies. For example, we may use thought journaling to uncover cognitive distortions or practice role-playing to prepare for real-life challenges. By setting clear goals and using structured sessions, I guide clients toward building resilience and achieving greater control over their emotions and behaviors.
Experience with Biofeedback: I have successfully used frequency-based biofeedback therapy in my telehealth practice to help clients manage anxiety, mood swings, and other emotional challenges. By leveraging remote tools and technology, I guide clients through biofeedback sessions to gain insight into their physiological responses and develop greater self-regulation. Many of my clients have experienced significant improvements in their mental wellness, enabling them to enhance progress in their treatment and achieve lasting emotional balance. How I use Biofeedback in my practice: Using biofeedback therapy, I help clients understand and regulate their body's responses to stress and emotional triggers. Sessions focus on monitoring heart rate variability, breathing patterns, and other physiological indicators through accessible, user-friendly remote devices. Together, we use this data to practice relaxation techniques, develop mindfulness, and strengthen self-regulation skills. This approach empowers clients to achieve greater control over their emotional well-being, complementing other therapeutic methods to enhance overall treatment outcomes.
Experience with Group Therapy: I have extensive experience facilitating group therapy sessions that foster connection, mutual support, and shared growth among participants. Over the years, I have led groups that address a variety of concerns, including anxiety, self-esteem, relationship challenges, and personal development. Group therapy provides a safe and collaborative environment where individuals can learn from others’ experiences, share their own, and build interpersonal skills that support their therapeutic goals. How I use Group Therapy in my practice: In my practice, I use group therapy to create a supportive space for clients to explore their challenges and discover solutions collectively. My upcoming group, Growth Mindset, starting January 5th, is designed to help participants develop resilience, cultivate a positive outlook, and embrace personal growth. This group will focus on actionable strategies to overcome limiting beliefs, set meaningful goals, and celebrate progress in a nurturing and empowering environment. Through guided discussions and interactive exercises, participants will gain valuable insights and tools to enhance their mental wellness and achieve their aspirations.

I wasn’t sure how today would go, just because of how emotional my situation is for me. But I felt very comfortable and made it through the session. I look forward to connecting again!
