I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LISW-CP) based in North and South Carolina. I earned my Master’s from Simmons University and have been practicing since 2018. Reaching out for support takes a lot of courage and curiosity—and I want to acknowledge that just by being here, you’re already taking an important step.
Life has a way of creating all kinds of transitions. Some can feel like waves of excitement and full of growth and opportunity, while others feel overwhelming, unclear, scary, or just plain hard. I work with people navigating many types of life changes, including (and not limited to): grief and loss, caregiving burnout, medical diagnoses, changes in independence, identity exploration, and retirement.
And with those changes often come things like anxiety, depression, loneliness, or feeling disconnected from yourself. My approach is holistic, somatic informed, and person-centered. That means we’ll focus on your strengths, your body and mind, your story, and what matters most to you as we work together to bring more balance, purpose, and joy into your life.
You don’t have to go through it alone. I’m here to support you.

Hello, I'm Katheryn! Maybe you're the one everyone leans on. You take care of your kids, your partner, your parents, your work, your home- and somewhere along the way, you stopped taking care of yourself. You may feel tired all the time, overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally drained, or like you've lost pieces of who you are. Maybe motherhood feels harder than you expected. Maybe you're carrying grief, stress, or loneliness that no one really sees. Maybe your children are growing up and needing you less, and you're wondering what comes next for you. You don't have to hold all of that alone. I work with women in all stages of life who are dealing with stress, loss, and emotional overwhelm. Whether you are adjusting to motherhood, struggling with postpartum depression or anxiety, caring for aging parents, grieving an empty nest, or simply feeling stuck and exhausted, therapy can give you a place to breathe, process, and feel supported again.
You don't have to face this alone. Are you feeling overwhelmed by grief, anxiety, or the weight of past trauma? Do you find yourself stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, longing for peace and clarity? Maybe you're navigating the loss of a loved one, the challenges of new motherhood, or the complexities of a relationship. What would it feel like to be truly seen, supported, and understood? You don’t have to go through this alone. With compassion and evidence-based care, I’ll walk beside you as you work toward healing, resilience, & emotional wellness. Are you ready to take that first step?
My goal is to assist you in developing your vision and journey in becoming your best and desired self. I am person centered and enjoy applying creative strategies in my practice; such as the use of art, music-videos, narrative mediums and activities. I believe that everyone is capable of change. I have extensive experience with working with adolescents, adults, and families. I am an active supporter of persons and groups of varied cultural backgrounds and individuals in the LGBTQ+ community.
I work with adults who are capable, responsible, and hard-working—but feel like they’re struggling to keep up with everything life demands. Many are dealing with ADHD, anxiety, overwhelm, procrastination, or difficulty following through, even when they know what they want to do. If you often think, “I know what I need to do—I just can’t seem to make it happen,” therapy can help bridge that gap. I take a practical, yet empathetic and collaborative approach focused on understanding your experience and what may be getting in the way.
Outside of therapy, I’m a parent, fiction writer, guitarist, and Korean-language learner. I believe meaningful change happens through curiosity, practice, and small, sustainable steps.

I live in Asheville, North Carolina with my wife and our two cats. I love to go hiking and kayaking, I own a record store where I also work, and love a good gaming session with my friends.

I am an easy going kind of guy with a sense of humor. I aim to connect with people, not just see them for an hour each week. I have been a therapist and addictions specialist for 12 years and I have no idea what I would do if I was not doing this. Feel free to ask me anything else you would like to know.
