First session
In our first session we would begin with brief introductions and an overview of how the sessions will work so that you can feel comfortable with the process. We would then spend time discussing what has brought you to therapy at this point in your life and any current challenges or concerns you would like support with. I will ask questions to better understand your experiences, background, and what you hope might be different as a result of therapy. Together, we will begin identifying personal goals and discuss how therapy can help move you toward the changes and growth you are hoping for.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to meet clients exactly where they are in their journey. I believe that meaningful change begins with feeling heard and understood, so I prioritize active, non-judgmental listening and creating a space where clients feel safe to share openly. Together we will identify goals that feel realistic, meaningful and aligned with what the client truly wants for their life. By working together in this way, clients can take an active role in their growth and feel confidents that they are getting the most out of the therapy process.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are those who are ready to begin the work of creating a meaningful changes in their lives. I work best with individuals who may not have everything figured out yet but are open, willing and motivated to explore themselves and grow. Therapy is most effective when the client is ready to reflect, challenge old patterns, and take steps toward becoming the best version of themselves. My goal is to support these clients who are committed to their personal growth and ready to move forward with purpose.
Treatment methods
Integrative
The integrative approach to therapy combines several different modalities for clients to help them start where they are and work towards a path to becoming their best selves. I use this most because each individual client is different and each client has a different presenting reason for seeking out therapy. Some things I commonly use include, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused brief therapy. That isn't an exhaustive list, but just a starting point on the therapeutic journey.
