LCSW, 4 years of experience
Hello, there! I'm a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) raised in the Piedmont region of North Carolina and have been supporting clients in the area since 2021. Outside of private practice I volunteer as a crisis counselor and victim's advocate. Outside of my work, I’m deeply committed to my own spiritual growth as a way to expand compassion, lessen suffering, and hold space for others on their path to peace. I find renewal in nature, often through hiking, camping, or simply being outdoors, and value time spent with loved ones and giving back to my community. This personal grounding helps me show up with presence and care, and I welcome those who feel drawn to reach out.
After we introduce ourselves, we’ll spend the first 10 minutes reviewing important policies, including confidentiality, scheduling, and how we’ll communicate between sessions. Next, I’ll take a few minutes to talk through what you can generally expect from the therapy process—along with its limitations—and we’ll discuss how future sessions might unfold. (Spoiler: much of that will be guided by your goals and preferences!) The rest of our time will focus on exploring what brought you to therapy. My main priority in this first session is to begin getting to know you and to assess how I can best support you moving forward.
As a provider, I offer a balance of unconditional positive regard and compassionate accountability. My approach is unique in that I draw from my own Buddhist practices of mindfulness and compassion to create a safe, supportive space for exploration and growth. This perspective guides how I hold space and ask thoughtful questions, but it is entirely my own and not something clients are required to engage with. Together, we’ll work with curiosity and care to support your accountability in ways that align with your goals for meaningful change.
I’m passionate about supporting clients through major life transitions—whether it’s a marriage, a loss, a relocation, or an unexpected event that’s left you feeling overwhelmed or unmoored. My approach is grounded in compassion and presence, with an emphasis on helping you reconnect with your inner stability and sense of direction. I bring a strong focus on mindfulness and practical skill-building into our work together, supporting clients in developing greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience. I also enjoy working with LGBTQIA+, ethically non-monogamous, and kink clients, offering affirming, nonjudgmental support tailored to your unique identity and needs. My practice is trauma-informed and centered on emotional safety, consent, healthy boundaries, and effective communication. Whether you’re navigating change, exploring identity, or simply seeking more peace in your life, I’m here to walk alongside you.
You deserve to be celebrated for your strengths more than labeled based on the burdens you carry. Providing trauma-informed care means shifting the focus of our time away from asking, "What's wrong with you?" and instead asking, "What's happened to you?" This has been a cornerstone of my approach to therapy from the beginning and it allows you to show up as your most authentic self without fear of judgment. You will notice my trauma-informed approach during sessions and beyond. While in session, I'm your therapist, but between sessions I'm also the mediator between you and a complicated medical system. I will advocate for your needs, continued medical coverage, and support you in finding any additional wellness resources if needed. I offer deep and continued grace regarding your scheduling needs and provide a collaborative approach to communicating between sessions based on mutual respect and need.
Throughout my time in practice, I have realized that clients frequently benefit from strengthening the skills found in DBT (mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness and distress tolerance). This is one of my primary treatment modalities and I often incorporate the practice and learning of DBT skills into sessions. I am certified in this treatment modality and engage in regular continuing education to make sure I'm bringing you the most up to date, research backed, care. If you appreciate straightforward tools to use between sessions then I will offer handouts and worksheets. Sessions might be spent learning a new skill, identifying when and how to use it in daily life, and collaborating on how we can tailor it to your unique needs.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a proven method for improving many symptoms, experiences, and mental health concerns. The way we perceive the world, and our role within it, has a profound impact on our lives. These perceptions often develop early in life and may no longer serve us in adulthood. I have engaged in CBT training and use this modality to support clients in managing mood symptoms, improving sleep, and getting rid of undesired behaviors.
I find that having clear short-term goals can help keep clients motivated and engaged. Early in treatment, we will collaborate and you'll have the chance to develop measurable goals that matter to YOU! These will help guide treatment and be used to celebrate each step you take toward transforming your life. I have been helping clients make meaningful changes in their lives through solution focused treatment for three years.
