Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I enjoy working with people and being able to see the difference that counseling makes in their lives. During our first session we will get to know each other. It will include an assessment in which we will discuss what brings you to therapy, your expected outcomes and ways to help you achieve your goals. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs, assist in setting goals needed to bring about change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are being non-judgmental because we all make mistakes, being a great listener, thinking outside of the box, being willing to help others, and being empathetic. I am straight forward and try to view situations from every perspective.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Clients that have the best outcomes are those that want and are ready to take the necessary steps to invoke change in their lives, and those that have family, friends and other support systems. Taking the first step to seek therapy can take courage, and I am proud of you for getting started! I look forward to working with you.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps people identify and change negative thought patterns. Goal setting, Coping strategies and interventions are used. Therefore changing how you view yourself and your situation.

Couples Counseling

Couples counseling includes pre-marrital counseling. Couples counseling involves open conversations between partners to identify underlying issues causing relationship problems, helping them understand each other's perspectives, and teaching them new communication and problem-solving skills to improve their relationship dynamics, all while remaining neutral and not taking sides; the goal is to empower the couple to work through conflicts together and build a stronger bond.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-focused therapy (SFT) works by focusing on a client's strengths and desired future state, rather than dwelling on the details of their problem, encouraging them to identify and build upon existing positive behaviors and exceptions to the problem to find solutions and achieve goals, essentially believing that clients have the inherent ability to solve their own issues with guidance from the therapist; it emphasizes setting clear, achievable goals and creating practical strategies to reach them.

Grief Therapy

Grief therapy helps people process their grief and develop coping strategies. It can be a safe space to express emotions and talk about a loved one who has died.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing (MI) is a counseling technique that helps people change their behavior by exploring their readiness to change and supporting their self-efficacy.
