New to Grow
I'm Kiara Grier, a therapist dedicated to supporting individuals through life's most challenging moments. With six years of clinical experience, I work with clients navigating stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, parenting concerns, and self-esteem struggles. I'm passionate about helping people build stronger communication skills, discover their life purpose, and work through feelings of guilt, shame, and the desire for forgiveness. My approach is grounded in understanding the complexities of human connection—whether that's attachment patterns, codependency, or blended family dynamics. I also specialize in supporting young adults facing questions about their purpose in life and individuals navigating major life transitions. I am especially passionate in helping individuals desiring to integrate their Christian faith with their healing journey and finding their life's purpose and calling. I believe in meeting you where you are with warmth, respect, and genuine care. My goal is to create a therapeutic space where you feel heard and supported as you work toward meaningful growth and healing. I'm honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
During our first session we will discuss presenting concerns, evaluate current coping skills and resources you have used to address these concerns, and map out goals to give us a starting point and direction to your healing journey. I also share what you can expect from me as a therapist and what our journey together could look like.
I like to think of the the counselor process as a metaphor of driving a car. You are the driver, in control of the vehicle and with and idea of the destination in mind. I come along side you in the passenger seat to help you navigate the road ahead. I point out things you may not see, add a new persecutive about things, and even bring clarity where there may be some fog. In this vehicle, I also have a break pedal that allows me to slow down the process and gas pedal to gentle add acceleration when needed. The overall goal is to arrive to a destination of a better version of yourself, allowing me to be in the journey with you while providing support, reinforcement, insight, and effective strategies and tools.
My ideal client is someone who is ready and expectant of change. Someone ready to challenge their current thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors by recognizing the incongruence between their desired self and the actualized self. I enjoy working with individuals who recognize that their current skills of managing mental health are not quite working for the new season of life; major life changes call for adjustments. An increased passion of mine is working with individuals who desire to integrate their Christian faith with the therapeutic process, with a goal of a wholistic growth and healing.
I believe every person grows when they feel empowered. Together we evaluate what strengths you already have and how to maximize them. This gives the clients a sense of control, accountability, and confidence to build new skills or in problem areas.
Integrating faith and therapy is key because spiritual health and mental health go hand-in-hand. Your spiritual beliefs shape your beliefs of self and your world view, which is at the core of mental health and healing.
