New to Grow
I am a mental health therapist specializing in grief, trauma, and substance use. I have been in the field about 10 years now and in that time I have worked with many different types of people and mental health disorders. I have worked in community mental health, private practice, residential, outpatient, and higher levels of care such as PHP/IOP. I love what I do and I could not imagine doing anything else.
Our first session will be us getting to know one another and determining whether we are a good match. I will ask questions about what brings you to therapy, what your goals are, and a bit about your background (family, mental health history, etc.) I welcome any and all questions and am happy to walk you through what continued sessions will look like based on your needs and goals.
I have worked with many clients throughout my career. I take my time with my clients and do not rush them. I believe that our hour together is your hour to talk about whatever it is you need to talk about. I am an empathetic and person-centered therapist who just wants to help my clients succeed.
I love working with grief and loss as well trauma. I really enjoy working with clients who are pursuing EMDR therapy. I also enjoy working with clients experiencing substance use issues and mood disorders. My ideal clients are motivated and ready to do the work even if it is difficult. My clients are curious and want to learn about themselves and their symptoms.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I help clients challenge and reframe negative thoughts. I provide psychoeducation to help clients learn more about themselves and their symptoms. I utilize mindfulness in my sessions to help clients be more present in the moment.
EMDR
I help clients reprocess traumatic memories and dismantle negative beliefs they may be experiencing as a result.
