Hello, I'm Dr. Walters, a licensed Clinical Psychologist. Ready to make some changes? Let's work together to get you on the path to managing mental health concerns, and recovery from substance use disorders. Over the past 26 years I've helped folks - probably much like yourself - develop the skills to get sober and maintain recovery from drugs and alcohol and manage co-occurring mental health concerns. I've had the opportunity to assist adults of all ages, races, cultures, religious/spiritual backgrounds, and many within the LBTQ+ community to create the foundation needed to manage their mental health and finally stop using drugs and alcohol. Are you concerned mental health symptoms such as depression or anxiety contribute to your substance use? It's quite common. We can talk about that as well and discuss strategies to help you manage symptoms and heal. If substance use is not a concern, but you are looking for help with anxiety, depression, or trauma- I can help get you on the path to being balanced and healthy. I look forward to meeting you.

Who am I? I’m a curious person, especially when it comes to the human experience and mental health. I bring that curiosity into every session along with occasional humor and a genuine commitment to helping you get to where you want to be. Even if you're not sure where that is yet, I'm happy to walk alongside you until you figure it out, or until we find someone else who’s the right guide. I’m here for the ride, the ups, the downs, the mess, and the cleanup that is so often part of mental health work. If you’re ready to explore change, let’s see if we’re a good fit.

Congratulations on seeking therapy! Most people who seek therapy or counseling report that they experience an improvement in mood and anxiety. Timing is everything and I can generally see you within 48 hours. Unfortunately, many folks have to wait weeks to see a therapist. I believe I am easy to talk to and approachable. Therapists are excellent listeners and I will be honest with you, rather than just agreeing or dismissing your opinions. If you see me and we establish a plan, you will be able to determine how much you need and for how long. Since most of what I am doing involves Telehealth, I ask that you cancel ahead of time if you cannot meet per schedule. I will do this as well. As your therapist, I will: Respect your privacy Respect your schedule Respect your opinions and values Respect the severity and urgency of your difficulties Make myself available when you need assistance Help you find answers and solutions rather than feeling “stuck"

Hi, my name is Anna, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Indiana. Taking that first step to acknowledging that you need help, is one of the hardest one, so finding a counselor you are able to connect with shouldn't be. If you're looking for a counselor who is laid back and open to work with you on any areas of need you may have, we may be a good fit. I believe being able to talk things out with someone who is open to hearing anything you may have to say and not passing judgment is often times needed when working on healing. I work to keep the mood light when needed but also provide the space to experience emotions without shame. During those times of processing I like to utilize the last few minutes of session to debrief, wind down, and possibly experience some laughter prior to ending session so you are able to leave feeling better.

Do you find it difficult to feel comfortable talking to others about your real feelings because you don't want to be that vulnerable to anyone else? Hi, I'm Jenae! Ever feel like you're carrying the world on your shoulders, thinking you have to handle everything alone, only to feel suffocated by it all? It's a common struggle, believe me. But here's the scoop: counseling isn't about getting a to-do list or being labeled "weak" for reaching out. It's about finding a cozy spot to unpack what's on your mind and in your heart. It's a sanctuary where you can just be you, no judgments or expectations. So, if you're feeling overwhelmed, know this: seeking help is a brave move towards healing. You're not alone in this journey. I'm here to guide you towards understanding your thoughts, emotions, and actions better. With an authentic, easygoing, and even enjoyable approach, I create a safe, judgment-free zone where you can freely talk about your concerns. Together, we'll develop a roadmap towards a more fulfilling life that aligns with your values and desires. If you're feeling the weight of stress in any area of life – personal, relational, familial, professional – I assist you in understanding the impact emotionally, physically, & mentally. You'll discover how to leverage your brain's capabilities to navigate life more effectively. Let's turn current problems into growth opportunities!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor in Indiana. I work with adults struggling with substances, relationships, self esteem and other forms of issues that cause discomfort and problems. I like to be "down to earth" and more directive in therapy because I'd like to get your problems solved as quickly as we can. I believe we, as humans, can benefit from having someone to talk to at any point in our lives and I'm ready to talk to you!

I’m a therapist with a passion for helping people navigate the challenges of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and addiction. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside clients in community mental health centers, academic medical settings, and private practice, supporting them as they heal, grow, and discover what’s possible for their lives. I am also deeply passionate about teaching and sharing knowledge—I’ve taught college courses on addiction treatment and have led trainings for other therapists on how to provide effective, compassionate care. I earned my graduate degree from the University of Chicago. When I’m not in session, you’ll often find me enjoying a good book, trying out a new recipe, or enjoying quiet moments with my spouse and our two cats.

All those titles have given me life experiences that have helped craft a pretty amazing story. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 9 years of therapeutic work experience. My clinical expertise in helping clients with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma/abuse, foster care/adoption, and parenting issues. Knowing that you are the expert author of your story, I am here to help guide you along your journey by growing your strengths, relationships, and resources to assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Do you often feel overwhelmed with life? Or do you feel that something from your past is keeping you stuck? I can help with anxiety, depression, past trauma, negative self talk, relationship issues and more. I have found great success with walking along side the people I work with to help them move from where they are to where they want to be…wherever that might be! I’m nonjudgmental and accepting of all walks of life- LGBTQIA+ individuals are welcome. I didn’t get into therapy to “fix” people, I use my practice to guide and help find new ways of doing or looking at things. I love being able to track the progress my clients make when they utilize the skills we’ve talked about in session. I use a mix of Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for most cases. For those suffering from PTSD, I use my Certified Clinical Trauma Professional training which includes somatic (body) work along with narrative work, all of which is grounded in the neuroscience of trauma. I have my Perinatal Mental Health Certificate as well, meaning I am aptly trained to help with anyone transitioning into new parenthood. I’m not overly concerned with labels and diagnoses, I’m just here to help you make changes to function and feel better day to day. If you think my approach sounds like it would help you, please reach out and we can schedule our first session to determine if we’ll be a good fit to work together moving forward. I genuinely can’t wait to meet you.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Indiana rather than a city like Indianapolis?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Indiana from Fort Wayne to Evansville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Indiana.

Will my therapist take Ambetter Health?

Yes! If you use Ambetter Health you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Ambetter Health you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
