Do you often feel overwhelmed with life? Or do you feel that something from your past is keeping you stuck? I can help with anxiety, depression, past trauma, negative self talk, relationship issues and more. I have found great success with walking along side the people I work with to help them move from where they are to where they want to be…wherever that might be! I’m nonjudgmental and accepting of all walks of life- LGBTQIA+ individuals are welcome. I didn’t get into therapy to “fix” people, I use my practice to guide and help find new ways of doing or looking at things. I love being able to track the progress my clients make when they utilize the skills we’ve talked about in session. I use a mix of Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for most cases. For those suffering from PTSD, I use my Certified Clinical Trauma Professional training which includes somatic (body) work along with narrative work, all of which is grounded in the neuroscience of trauma. I have my Perinatal Mental Health Certificate as well, meaning I am aptly trained to help with anyone transitioning into new parenthood. I’m not overly concerned with labels and diagnoses, I’m just here to help you make changes to function and feel better day to day. If you think my approach sounds like it would help you, please reach out and we can schedule our first session to determine if we’ll be a good fit to work together moving forward. I genuinely can’t wait to meet you.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session I'll be going over background information and getting a good idea of what brings you to therapy. We don't have to deep dive into anything that first session, and I promise to make it as comfortable as possible (I've done this for awhile, so I got you!) Toward the end of the first session we'll come up with an appropriate diagnosis we're both comfortable with and set treatment goals.
The treatment methods and tools I utilize
I use a mix of Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for most cases. For those suffering from PTSD, I use my Certified Clinical Trauma Professional training which includes somatic (body) work along with narrative therapy all of which is grounded in the neuroscience of trauma. The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My biggest strengths would be helping those with trauma, anxiety, postpartum and depression. I have a good list of coping skills to get you feeling better day to day. Once you're functioning more normally, we can look at what deeper issues there are and how to address them. There are several ways I like to process trauma and picking the best direction depends entirely on what you're most comfortable. I am not taking on any couples as clients currently.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have lots of training on trauma and enjoy helping with trauma, anxiety, and depression. I also enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ population- all are welcome in my practice. I am also experienced in working with postpartum clients in all phases of motherhood.

Her glasses drew me to her because I love fun glasses and I wear them! She actively listened to me. And I appreciated the attention because my last therapist was horrible. She talked to me without judgment

Megan's profile sounded like a person I'd like to get to know, that helped me decide on choosing her.
