Hi, I'm a regular gal, with adult kids & have been working in this field since 1990. I will never say I have 'seen it all', as I haven't. I have a pretty good sense of humor, along with a quiet side. Therapy is a place to look inward, to figure it out. I will walk along side of you as needed to do this.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is an intake assessment where I will review the paperwork & self screens you complete prior to this appointment. It is a bit formal in nature, as a clinical path will be developed with you. This 'path' is the treatment goal, which is what we will work towards in our time together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Greatest strength is probably the fact I can talk to anyone about just about anything.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

After having worked with teenagers and those in the legal system, I have found I prefer seeing adults. Adults who are interested in figuring out what is going on & finding solutions to what is troubling to them.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

This is your therapy. The hour of time slotted is for you. I look forward to being along side of you as we discuss things that are the most troubling for you, at your pace.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Oh, how I enjoy helping clients understand their thinking and behaviors along with feelings are all a part of who they are and why they do what they do & why change is so very difficult.

Compassion Focused

Depending on the person and what is going on, this is given at different levels in the session.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

This method is used frequently for those with EAP sessions. Short-term solutions that can be implemented with results.

Motivational Interviewing

Is a skill that is helpful in getting the person to internalize their own thoughts for change.

This was my first therapy appointment, and I couldn’t have asked for a better start. She was authentic, warm, kind‑hearted, and completely non‑judgmental. I felt safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. It’s rare to meet someone who can create that kind of comfort right away, but she did. I’m grateful to have found her.
