I am a licensed mental health counselor with over 20 years of experience working with individuals and couples to help them find balance in their lives. I am trained in marriage and family therapy and I am a member of the LGBTQI community and a strong advocate for Human Rights. I believe the therapy is meant to help guide and encourage the client to address current and past issues that may be causing an a struggle to gain personal balance and happiness.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then begin discussing ithe specific challenges you're facing so we can identify a goal for your therapy process and begin to create an individualized plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have experience working with individuals and couples who have a history of past trauma, sexual abuse issues, anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles as well as helping individuals with addiction recovery.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Understanding how your thoughts, behaviors, and feelings are interconnected is important to changing patterns that are not benefiting you in your life at this point in time. When you identify troubling situations in your life and become aware of your thoughts, emotions, and beliefs about them you are often able to make effective changes.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and is useful in helping with managing moods and dealing with difficult life situations so that emotions don't feel overwhelming. DBT is useful in working with depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), self-harm behaviors and even addictive behavior choices.

Couples Counseling

Talking through your feelings with one another while having someone help you to navigate the conversation is useful for resolving relationship issues. Learning techniques for active listening and improving effective communication is necessary when relationships are struggling.
