Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Indiana. I have worked in the mental health field for 19 years in a variety of settings. I currently work individually with adolescents and adults of all ages who are struggling with a variety of concerns. Some of the issues I work most frequently with include depression, anxiety, women’s issues, post-partum depression/anxiety, trauma, stress management, support through life transitions, supporting care-givers and parents, grief, Bipolar Disorder, and Adjustment Disorders. I use an eclectic approach to help clients work through their problems with the primary treatment method used being Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
The first session is spent gathering information and determining what the best course of treatment will be. We will work together to establish goals and identify what you are hoping to gain through therapy.
I am an active listener and always seek to understand my clients' points of view.
I enjoy working with teens and adults. I have experience working with a wide variety of issues, particularly depression and anxiety. I use an eclectic approach to help clients work through their problems with the primary treatment method used being Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I will work closely with you to create a personalized treatment plan and decide what goals you want to accomplish in therapy and in life.
Angela Olvera offers therapy covered by UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Indiana.
I use an eclectic method for therapy but my primary method used is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT challenges negative thoughts in order to change behavior.
I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) which is proven effective for a lot of different issues. DBT is helpful in learning to better manage emotions and improve relationships.
Integrative therapy uses techniques from various types of therapy to create an individualized treatment approach that is unique for each client. Integrative therapy also allows for focus on the whole person (thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and social context).
Motivational Interviewing is used to help clients create goals for themselves using their own set of values. It is also useful to help the client look at the pros and cons of potential behavior changes.
