New to Grow
I graduated from Boise State University with a Master’s in Social Worker and have been practicing in the field for over 20 years. I began my clinical practice as the director of a small rural Mental Health Clinic in Idaho; we specialized in serving those with high acuity needs. I then transitioned to the Department of Veteran Affairs where I have been honored for the past 14 years to serve Veterans and their families. My philosophy and belief is that no matter the circumstances or whom I am working with, I am here to join my client on their personal journey and make sure they always feel heard and respected as we travel the road towards healing together.
Our first session is spent on us getting to know each other. This is your time to really ask questions and to interview me to determine if I am the appropriate clinician for you. As we go through the assessment and explore your uniqueness through a holistic approach, you will be able to determine if you feel a connection and a comfort that will allow you to engage with me as your therapist. Together, we will discuss what brought you in today, and the impact you would like to see on your life. We will explore how to reach these goals through the use of different modalities that will help you to become empowered in your life
One of my biggest strengths is my nonjudgemental approach to treatment. I understand that until I walk in someone else’s shoes and live through their experiences and challenges, I have no right to judge anyone. Another strength is my theoretical approach of empowering you as the expert of your life and only being there to guide you to a deeper understanding of self.
I am well-versed in working with a diverse demographic population. I understand that each person's journey is unique and their own. I am committed to being client centered and focusing on your values, morals, needs, and goals in treatment. To support this ideology, I’ve spent significant time expanding my education and training in multiple modalities which allows me to meet your needs and provide guidance as you work towards a better you.
