I have over 20 years of experience in the counseling area. We all experience anxiety, depression, grief, and loneliness at times. And we all struggle with memories from childhood that greatly influence our thinking. These things make up many of the stories we use to control how we feel about the quality of our lives. Changing those stories can help you build the life you desire. Realizing that there is no set way to live a life, I provide a safe and confidential environment where each client can discover a way forward that works best for them. Working together, I'll help you develop coping skills and positive behavior change. We will focus on your goals and ways to achieve them. I focus on couples, family, and adolescent counseling.

Hello, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the states of Texas and Tennessee with 30 years of counseling and ministry experience. I began as a minister of the Gospel in the Southern Baptist tradition in 1993 working with the homeless to overcome the struggles of addiction and hopelessness in North Carolina and Tennessee. From there, I became a case manager in a rural oupatient behavioral health clinic helping the chronically mentally ill live independently outside of the institutional settings. As my family of five children grew, my wife encouraged me to join the military in 2007 and for the next 13 years we served alongside our Soldiers and their Families as a chaplain. There, I learned through experience how to work through the stress of multiple transitions, the unyeilding demands for time and energy, and the unjust nature of toxic environments. I learned how to support those who wanted to strengthen themselves and their relationships in these environments and to ultimately be at peace with who they are and who they want to be. As I have matured in my training and become licensed in marriage and family therapy, I have found that I now specialize in using Solution Focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help individuals identify their strengths and the beliefs that are guiding their behavior. With this knowledge, people can begin to choose who they want to be.

This helps to build rapport and allows authentic and vulnerable conversations to occur through my nonjudgmental eyes, open minded thoughts, being a great listener, providing honesty, and direct feedback.

Karen Collins is a psychotherapist in private practice in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. She is originally from Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University. She has worked at inpatient adult and adolescent psychiatric hospitals in Ohio for 8 years along with managing her private therapy practice and teaching at The Ohio State University. Then in 2012, she said good-bye to the cold weather and moved to Jupiter, FL where she began working at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center for 10 years. Her career at the WPB VA Medical Center offered her the opportunity to work with Veterans in the following capacities over that 10 year period; as a Mental Health Therapist, Program Manager of Post Deployment Clinic and the Care Giver Support Program, Supervisor of Homeless Programs and Supervisor over programs serving Veterans with serious mental health conditions. In addition to working at the WPB VA Medical Center, she worked in private practice in Jupiter, FL. In March of 2022, she left the WPB VA Medical Center in February to focus completely on her private practice which moved with her from Jupiter to Palm Beach Gardens, FL. She has published two books, one on relationships and another on managing depression. She has written a couples interactive co-journal and is also working on publishing other journal series for situation-specific healing journals for life events such as healing post affair, moving forward after the end of a relationship, healing after death of a partner; to name a few. She has published multiple articles on relationships, depression, improving well-being, thriving during and after a serious health issue and reducing acute stress response. She has a YouTube Channel, “Therapy with Karen Collins” where she posts peaceful places, guided meditations, provoking ideas to consider and a segment on managing acute stress response and improving overall well-being to teach how to prevent over-responding to stressors. She has provided therapy virtually for over 11 years (long before it was trending as a popular method) and she is a MDLIVE provider joining that company in the beginning of their virtual platform launch. The past few years have proven that virtual therapy is an effective method of providing therapy removing additional barriers such as drive time, inconvenience, lack of child care, etc. to accessing needed services.

I have approximately 30 years of experience in virtually all clinical settings. I began my career working in a juvenile penitentiary (referred to as a 'youth development center) and after almost 6 years, left that setting and moved on to new opportunities. Along the way, I worked with group homes, foster homes, substance abuse treatment programs, and even provided treatment in a sexual offender treatment program. In 2004 I went solely into private practice and currently operate two offices. I also provided on-site services to businesses that suffer a death or other disruptive event; I have provided over 170 of these services in four states during the last several years. While you don't need any faith to see me, I also offer Christian Counseling. Finally, I am a US Army veteran and understand the challenges and needs of veterans. I operate under a practical approach that seeks to build on a person's strengths to achieve realistic, measurable goals. I utilize primarily cognitive behavioral therapy and reality therapy to help my clients achieve their goals and to live life more fully.

Hi, I'm Emily. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist and I love to walk alongside clients as they dig into their lives in order to live more wholly. Wholehearted living comes from becoming aware of patterns and behaviors getting in the way of where they want to go. The therapeutic relationship is the best part of therapy to me, the connection and synergy that brings about change, growth and support. My Master's degree was obtained through a medical school and focused on the overlap between our physical bodies and the mental health aspect of life. I believe this positioned me to receive a wholistic-focused introduction to the mental health world. I went on to receive my clinical hours in a Trauma 1 Hospital where I was a Transitions Counselor. A nurse or doctor would put in an oder for the counselors to provide psychological support as patients learned of new diagnosis, were going into surgery, or were dealing with end of life. Palliative care is a passion of mine, meaning everyone deserves to receive care and comfort even while dealing with a chronic illness. My clinical hours were also spent in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation outpatient hospital. In the past my career took me to Elder Care Law, Senior Living and hospice. My spouse worked with college students for much of his career so I have also become passionate about the intersection between emerging adult and all the transitions that accompany that period of life. In a way, I see what I do as Palliative Care; all of life has joy alongside pain and I want to be a practitioner who helps to alleviate the pain and struggle where I can.

Hi. My name is Deborah Vaughn and I have dedicated my life to making your life better. I have laughed and I have loved. I have cried and I have lost. I have experienced anxiety and depression, poverty and wealth. I have had beauty and acceptance, age and neglect. I have given birth to four children, two that were incarcerated for crimes, and I have had them brought back to me renewed again in life. I've been sad and lonely and I have been on top of the mountain singing praises to the God of the Universe. Experiences, I've had too many to number, both good and bad, and I have learned from each and every one. Empathy I have for all, because I too have probably been there, or I could have been there easily enough. I have saved them all in my mind and heart so that I can help you through any of them you might need my help with. Sincerely, Deborah

My passion is helping, including creating a comfortable space that allows individuals to be their authentic selves without judgment. We all have a story that includes various experiences. I enjoy helping individuals to gain an understanding of their stories to provide them with clarity and empowerment. My experience as a therapist includes domestic violence, trauma, anxiety, depression, and personality disorders in a variety of settings.
