About me

Wife. Mother. Therapist. Navigator. I value my authentic self and believe we all can trace life’s imprints to dive into the core of who we are versus what life has conditioned us to be. I hone in on my abilities to help all you navigators explore whichever capacities it is that you seek to grow through, heal from, or transition into. You are not just another name, but a whole light. We are all perfectly imperfect. I truly believe you can become stronger through a healthier relationship with yourself and others when equipped with the proper navigational tools.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

You will be welcomed with warmth and positive energy. You will get an opportunity to determine how well you and I connect therapeutically so that you can see yourself achieving the goals you seek. We will discuss and go over necessary documents and allow the space for you to ask questions and receive any needed clarification. So come into a safe, virtual space with me and let's get started on your journey!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am a very direct, warm, affirming, attentive, energetic, compassionate and intentional therapist. I may seem like someone you have known for years as we build rapport. I embody cultural competency for black and brown people and am openminded for other cultural aspects I may not be affluent with. I function from a very person centered approach and utilize a variety of tools to aid in you achieving your therapeutic goals.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are any individual or couple who desires to foster mental and emotional growth, navigate life changes, manage intense emotions, improve communication skills, process through trauma, better articulate needs or just need a safe person to talk to.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is my go to for so many presenting problems. It has helped a multitude of my clients recognize and challenge how their thoughts influence their feelings and behavior interactions. Then use that knowledge to change their thinking patterns, which leads to heightened awareness and more satisfying days.

Couples Counseling

Some run away from couples therapy, but I run to it. It helps my clients communicate better, deepen intimacy, manage/address potential issues, and work towards their personal goals. I'm also a Prepare-Enrich facilitator which further aids in how I utilize couples therapy in my practice.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use SFBT for individuals who are trying to achieve a specific goal, not focusing on what led to the need for change, but rather the solution; how to get from where you are to where you want to be. This technique helps visualize preferred future, recognize existing strengths, and take small actionable steps toward the goals.
