I am a licensed therapist with 30+ years of experience working with adults and couples navigating life challenges, relationship concerns, and personal growth. I believe therapy is most helpful when people feel respected, understood, and supported in exploring both difficulties and strengths. My goal is to provide a thoughtful, collaborative space where clients can gain insight, develop practical tools, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. I will ask some questions about your current concerns, relevant history, and what you hope to gain from counseling. You are welcome to share at a pace that feels comfortable for you. We will also talk about your goals for therapy and discuss how we might work together to address them. This session is a chance for you to ask questions, learn about my approach, and decide whether the therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit for you. Therapy is a collaborative process. While meaningful change often takes time, many people find that simply beginning the conversation can bring relief and clarity. My goal is to provide a supportive, respectful space where we can work together toward your goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength as a therapist is the ability to create a safe, respectful space where clients feel understood and supported while also being gently challenged toward growth. I combine strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills with a practical, collaborative approach to treatment. Clients often appreciate that I balance empathy with clear direction, helping them better understand their patterns and develop concrete strategies for change. With many years of experience working with adults and couples, I bring a depth of clinical perspective to issues such as trauma, anxiety, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I draw from evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy and cognitive processing therapy, tailoring treatment to each individual’s needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model. Ultimately, my goal is to help clients gain insight, build resilience, and develop skills that allow them to move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I provide psychotherapy to adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship challenges, life transitions, situational stress, and aging-related concerns. I offer a warm, steady, client-centered approach grounded in evidence-based practices, helping clients gain clarity, build resilience, and move forward with greater confidence. I work with adults from diverse backgrounds and identities and provide LGBTQ+ affirming care within a supportive and inclusive environment.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In therapy, clients learn to identify unhelpful or distorted thinking patterns and replace them with more balanced, realistic thoughts. By practicing new ways of thinking and responding, individuals can develop healthier behaviors and coping strategies that reduce distress and improve daily functioning.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

n therapy, clients learn how traumatic experiences can lead to “stuck points,” or unhelpful beliefs about themselves, others, and the world (such as guilt, shame, or feeling permanently unsafe). Through guided discussion and cognitive restructuring, clients examine these beliefs and learn to develop more balanced and accurate ways of understanding the trauma. This process helps reduce the emotional impact of the event and supports recovery by promoting healthier thinking patterns and improved functioning.

Couples Counseling

Couples counseling helps partners improve communication, strengthen emotional connection, and work through areas of conflict within the relationship. In therapy, couples learn to better understand each other’s perspectives, identify unhelpful interaction patterns, and develop healthier ways of communicating and resolving disagreements. The process focuses on building skills such as active listening, emotional regulation, and collaborative problem-solving, helping partners create a more supportive and satisfying relationship.
