Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Illinois and soon to be Tennessee as well. I've been working with children and adults since 2009 when I received my Masters in Social Work in Iowa. I enjoy working with children, teenagers, and adults and have worked with clients through private mental health agencies, within the public school system, and through special education services.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will include a review of a client's background, life experiences, past struggles, current struggles, and goals for the future. We will then work towards establishing short and long term goals to work towards.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with clients as young as 5 to middle aged individuals helping with a variety of concerns, including those associated with depression, anxiety, self-doubt, family conflicts, relationship stressors, ADHD, and Autism. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am trained to help clients take a look at all aspects of their lives and where a client can start to make positive changes towards long term success. I enjoy empowering my clients, so that they can take the steps they need towards overcoming current obstacles they are encountering.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I've been using CBT for much of my time working with children, adolescents, and adults to help them find success working through many challenging thoughts and feelings, including those associated with anxiety, depression, and working to improve self-esteem. CBT helps clients to become mindful and aware of how one's thoughts can impact their feelings. When we work through these processes that often happen quickly and automatically, clients can find success as they become more mindful and learn to shift their thoughts to lead to more positive feelings and outcomes. Through CBT, we can build healthy daily routines that will lead to lifelong positive affects.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I've found great success in using solution focused brief treatment to help individuals identify their goals, challenges, and steps to move forward for success in their future. This is a great treatment method to solidify how one is feeling, where they are at in their treatment progress, and what steps could be taken to move forward towards positive success.

Strength-Based

I am firm believer in focusing on everyone's strengths through treatment. My goal is for each client to recognize their own strengths and build on them to find their own successes in life (both intrinsically and extrinsically). We all have the power and ability to move forward in life. A strength-based mindset helps to empower clients through their treatment and progress so that each person can find their own success. Every client has the strength and power to instill healthy daily routines into their lifestyles that will lead to positive outcomes.
