I am a native Memphian who enjoys spending time with my husband and two daughters. My career as a counselor began in the school setting where I served as a middle school counselor. I earned the nickname of "adolescent whisperer" from making deep and meaningful connections with teens and their families. I wanted to extend my services beyond the school setting, thus I earned the mental health license that allows me to practice outside of the school setting as well. I counsel from the belief that we are all imperfect beings working to navigate life’s challenges. I love to motivate clients to become the best version of themselves while attentively acknowledging their current situation without judgment.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will have introductions where participants discuss their reasons for seeking therapy, establish a safe and confidential environment, share basic personal information, and begin to build rapport by answering questions about their current situation, symptoms, and goals for treatment, while also having the opportunity to ask questions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths are authenticity and compassion, and I enjoy exploring each individual's unique path toward their goals.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have a passion for counseling adolescents and young adults navigating life changes. I also enjoy working with women experiencing anxiety, depression, and inevitable life adjustments.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is effective because it helps people learn to identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors, which can lead to more positive feelings and actions.

Faith based therapy

Faith-based therapy is important because it allows individuals to integrate their religious beliefs and spiritual practices into their therapeutic process, potentially providing a deeper level of healing.

Interpersonal

Interpersonal therapy focuses on improving mental health by addressing current relationship issues and conflicts, which can significantly impact mood and overall well-being.

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy focuses on an individual's existing strengths and abilities, fostering a positive mindset, enhancing self-esteem, and empowering them to utilize their inherent resources to overcome challenges and improve their overall well-being, rather than solely focusing on their weaknesses or problems.
