In our first session together we will go over brief introductions, current concerns, goals for therapy, and ways we can work to achieve those goals together.
I have over 20 years of experience working with folks from all walks of life and my ability to build rapport and to provide proven therapy techniques and tools helps to improve outcomes and overall quality of life.
I have successfully worked with clients throughout all stages of life and currently prefer adults ages 18-99 from any background, ethnicity, faith, race, sexual orientation, and gender.
I have been using CBT for the past 20+ years to successfully treat most mental health issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other major mental health disorders.
I have been using mindfulness based therapy as an adjunct to CBT for the past few years. It seems to help reduce anxiety and depression symptoms and help CBT tools and techniques to work better.
Motivational interviewing is offered on an as needed basis to help motivate you to find and acheive your desired goals.
Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal-oriented therapeutic approach that emphasizes identifying and amplifying solutions rather than focusing solely on problems, helping individuals achieve positive change efficiently and effectively. I often use this modality when sessions are limited and relief is needed ASAP.
I am EMDR trained by the EMDR Institute and have provided EMDR and the Flash Technique trauma therapy services to successfully treat acute and chronic PTSD and C-PTSD.

He is very skilled at seeing the bigger picture and well-versed in a wide range of conditions. His personality was a great fit for me, and I felt comfortable speaking with him immediately. By the end of our first session, we already agreed on a path that left me hopeful and excited about gaining clarity and confidence.

Of all the therapy I have had in my 65 years I am very pleased with Joe, more so than anyone. I feel he is invested in me and in helping me. He is direct about his approach and warm and funny. He empowers me to work on my issues and learn why I am the way I am. He, unlike other counselors has delved into issues that are more or less crippling me in my life and how I can work through them. I have never had a counselor do more than say they acknowledged I had issues bothering me.
