Hi I am Gaby, a licensed clinical professional counselor, I earned my master’s degree in Community Counseling at Loyola University Chicago. I realized I wanted to become a therapist during a serendipitous summer camp experience—40 feet in the air on the high ropes course, I learned that I loved helping people process challenging experiences in creative ways. I have been doing individual therapy with teens and adults of all ages since 2020. Previously, I worked as a clinical consultant, clinical director, and clinical supervisor in specialized mental health rehabilitation settings. I have been supporting people in creating and meeting their goals since 2012. I have used all of my past work experiences to learn how to work with clients to explore dreams, and strengths, and learn how to make these things their reality. I use eclectic strategies to support people as they sort through their lives and figure out ways to move forward in a new light. I believe that therapy is a special space that allows a person to sit, process, and problem-solve in a way that can’t always be done in day-to-day. Those who know me best would describe me as someone who goes with the flow but still takes time to stop and climb some trees. In my spare time, I can be found with my husband and three boys ideally outside kayaking down a river or cross-country skiing in the woods. I also enjoy running, biking, gardening, and cooking.

Hi, I am Jenn, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Certified Telemental Health Provider, and the owner of Epijennetics Counseling and Consulting in Libertyville, Illinois. Epijennetics Counseling is about to open an office for in-person appointments but will be only accepting virtual appointments for the next month. You can read more about my work and practice at www.epijennetics.com. I am passionate about helping clients increase their self-awareness so that they are more in touch with their feelings, needs, and desires, and equipping them with the knowledge and tools to create the life that they want. By utilizing assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to better understand personality and the Young Schema Assessment to explore harmful thoughts and beliefs that came from previous experiences and messages received during childhood years, I help clients discover hidden obstacles that keep them from having the life they dream of. I have found that when we put in the work to make sense of ourselves and our stories, we not only heal and grow ourselves but also develop more compassion and increased understanding of others. Often this growth and healing process lessens mental health symptoms such as anxiety and depression and improves overall quality of life, as well as relationship quality. If you are interested in doing some exploring, I would love to hear from you! (Please note that I am not offering Couple's Therapy or Family Therapy through Grow Therapy. If you are interested in these services please reach out directly through www.epijennetics.com.

Hi, I'm Myrna. Do you sometimes feel that you don't fit in or that others are taking advantage of your kindness? Do you feel that others undervalue you and your contributions and that the goal post you have been assigned by others to reach keeps getting moved further away from you? I help abuse victims and survivors to appreciate themselves, their goals, their achievements, and their own individual beauty. Together we can work to help you to separate your individual goals and aspirations from those that you may have adapted in order to please others. Whether it is self-acknowledged engrained attitudes and beliefs acquired from parental, educational, religious, or social conditioning that has caused you to undervalue yourself and value other's opinions of you above your own self-assessment or whether the cause is unknown, I can help you. We will use a solutions-focused approach that utilizes practical and proven techniques that address both your emotional, mental, and physical needs. I incorporate bible verses, history, and personality assessments to assist you in seeing your place in the world and recognizing yourself as a valuable individual. In our sessions together, you will be met with respect and appreciation. I look forward to working with you.

Does life feel like a puzzle and the pieces are just not coming together? As a dedicated mental health therapist, I am committed to guiding individuals on their journey towards well-being with a strong emphasis on self-care and intention…working on seeing the “bigger picture” and finding how the pieces fit together. I believe that the mental health journey can feel different for everyone and is valid for all. It’s addressing the pile-on effects of everyday stress and learning how to breathe through anxiety and panic attacks. It’s establishing and keeping a daily routine as part of ADHD symptom management and finding self compassion when experiencing depressive thoughts. There is no wrong way to approach the process of mental well-being. My role as a therapist is to support, facilitate, and provide space to “examine the pieces”.

What happens when our well-intentioned - yet sometimes uncooperative - brains try to protect us from experiencing harm? Yup, you got it! It's called Stress, also known as Anxiety, and at times it can be quite the nuisance. You are welcome to join me on a journey of knowledge and self-discovery to recognize and appreciate how our brain and bodies have helped us survive the personal challenges and struggles life presents. And then, let's help our brain recognize that, when we are actually safe, we don't need to go into stress mode, and we can learn how to direct Anxiety to take a seat until it is next needed. Often times, Anxiety's friends, Depression and Trauma, love to join the party (uninvited). Together, we can learn to appreciate them as well, while sending them on their way. Along the way, let's tap into a bit of Grace and Self-Compassion. Let's also identify the multitude of Strengths and Resources in place, and use them to move from a Fear-Based response, to one of Courage.

Hi there and welcome! My name is Rebekah. I am a clinical social worker with over twenty years of experience in the field. I am honored to participate in the lives of so many interesting people and feel fortunate to have such fulfilling work. Much of my therapy practice involves clients with a history of traumatic experiences; this can include isolated experiences (assaults, accidents, natural disasters) or more ongoing issues (childhood abuse/neglect, domestic violence). Other times I am meeting with folks who have experienced losses or life changes; this may include things like deaths, loss of identity, relationship changes, new parenthood, etc.. In addition to providing talk therapy, I am also a university professor, provide supervision to new practitioners, and occasionally serve as an expert witness in child maltreatment matters. The rest of my life is comprised of friends, family and community. I enjoy spending time with my 5-year-old son as well as our extended family. I am a dog lover; our sweet pup is 16-years-old and a joy to have around. (You may occasionally hear her tapping around my office during our sessions.) In my spare time you might find me socializing with friends, spending time in nature (despite being a city dweller), being a tourist in my hometown (there's a LOT to do in Chicago!), or getting "crafty."

Finding a therapist can be an overwhelming task. Life can be full of complexities that can be difficult to navigate. Considering that you may be feeling sad or overwhelmed, I commend you for taking the brave first steps toward taking care of yourself. I believe in the value and worth of the person and that we all possess strengths to help us in the journey of life. If you have been feeling stuck, we can work together to uncover what is holding you back and help you to develop the tools that will move you forward. A key component to beginning this process is to find someone who can put you at ease. I have been told I am easy to talk to and make providing a safe, comfortable, non-judgmental, and empathetic environment a top priority. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Certified Reciprocal Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CRADC) in the state of Illinois. I have been in the field for close to 20 years and have been in private practice for 10. I specialize in helping people recover from anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. I utilize a collaborative, whole-person approach that values the relationship between therapist and client and sees the client as the expert. This is your story! I’m just walking through it with you, and I’m honored you chose me!

I greet every client with the belief that we are born into this world with the capacity for living unique and healthy lives. I believe that it is the stressors of challenging individual experiences, pain and illnesses, trauma, and attachment injuries that move us off our centers and cause symptoms of depression, anxiety, and dysfunctional defensive behaviors. My goal is to create a setting in which my client feels safe and supported, and therefore able to re-examine the patterns that form our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Together as a collaboration we can take the fascinating journey and reach for full potential, coherence and health

I first became interested in working with mental health when I returned home from Afghanistan while in the Army National Guard. I have seen many friends fall victim to substance abuse, depression, and PTSD. I swore that I would work on being in the position to best help veterans and others who go through difficult situations. Being an addictions counselor and Social Worker is very personal to me. It is my passion. Seeing that I already had a bachelor's in Community Health, I made it my goal to become some kind of practitioner. When I learned about Social Work, I was overwhelmed with the idea of getting my Masters and working towards a license. A few years later, I finally received my Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am proud of my license and it took 5 years of hard work to attain. I have now been working in the mental health and addiction field for roughly 10 years. I first got into counseling in the military. After a few years of working in inpatient mental health and substance abuse, I spent some time outpatient. I specialize in addictions but have much experience with people with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I have an extra certified credential of being a Certified Trauma Therapy Professional. I also have experience helping people dealing with relationships, careers, and other life issues as well. Also, I have experience working with those who have a criminal background. I try to listen and understand your problems and point of view the best I can. Based on this I work with you to develop a plan to help you make improvements. My main focus is to help you make a positive change. I hope to work around your needs. It's my hope that I can help support you through whatever it is you're going through. Some people just want support, while others want formal therapy. Just let me know what it is you're looking for. Sometimes people just need to talk to someone or need positive encouragement. I am happy to give this as well. I am here to be a positive person in the lives of people that need more positive people.

I’m an LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) and I’ve been in the social work field for almost a decade, with about 3 years of those years specifically as a therapist. During my time I’ve worked with many populations, such as individuals who have/are; ■ been in foster care, or are fostering ■ geriatric and/or physically or cognitively disabled, and their caregivers/guardians ■ re-entering communities from incarceration ■ receiving special education services, and their caregivers/guardians ■ challenged by substance use (specifically opioids, and alcohol) ■ experienced physical and/or sexual abuse, and their loved ones and, ■ experienced intimate partner violence (also known as domestic violence). Currently as a therapist my work involves individuals ■ experiencing irritability and/or rigidity towards loved ones without a clear understanding of why, ■ who have a hard time with creating and implementing boundaries, ■ who believe they are tight-knit with their family yet do not feel understood and feel alone, ■ low self-esteem, and ■ feeling lost in their current stage of life. I consider therapy to be a form (because there are so many others!) of healing and connecting (with oneself). A form that I am called to as a practitioner, and that I am so happy to be able to walk alongside my clients. When I’m not seeing clients, I am eating helado de coco (de agua!) with my two kiddos, catching a play in the city, or crossing things off my bucket list!

Hello, I’m Tim. Do you ever feel that tasks of modern life leave you with limited space and energy to focus on your emotional and mental well-being? When people are maxed out emotionally, they sometimes notice a change in their behaviors and relationships. Life demands can lead to imbalances that might manifest as discord with your significant other or family members, feeling the general sensation of stress or fatigue, or not feeling motivated to engage in mood-regenerating practices. If these experiences resonate with you, I would welcome the opportunity to collaboratively explore the underlying causes, and work toward rebuilding emotional equilibrium. Sometimes people will view therapy and self-care as too much of a time commitment during their already busy schedules; however, I take the stance that it is an essential part of any self-maintenance plan. A practice of working toward better self-understanding and self-compassion is always a return on the investment of time.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out! Do you ever have those days where things are especially difficult?? Many of the people that I meet struggle with mental health, substance abuse, and managing traumatic events. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I also have extensive experience supporting teenagers who have experienced trauma, which led me to become a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Currently I work with adults and youth, and I'm a strong believer in the mental/physical health connection. I believe in strengths-based recovery that looks at all the systems that can impact us. Bits and pieces of different models incorporated together tend to have the most benefit, based on the person's needs. I have seen so many great successes! I enjoy supporting the people I work with and going through their journey with them. I am currently licensed in both IL and TN. When I am not in sessions, you will find me hiking with the doggos, road-tripping in the Jeep, and going into "Mom Mode" with my three kids. I look forward to connecting with you :)

Hello! I'm Diana. Thank you for being here and visiting my profile. As a new client, Grow will have you book an appointment. Please be aware that I will then reach out to you and get you set up with a free 15-20 minute consultation (possibly at a different time) and I will get you onboarded with me and get you rescheduled. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME AN EMAIL. You can CALL or TEXT me at 630-716-3939 and tell me that you are a Grow client wanting to schedule a free consultation. Thank you! If you're experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, or overwhelm, then you're in the right place (*please note that I don't treat for major depression/suicidality/self-harm/other severe issues or life-threatening issues*) I can help you make sense out of what you're going through, and bring about a healing process that deals directly with the heart of the matter so that you can finally feel like yourself again. My experiences as a therapist, educator, parent, and fellow human being has taught me that there is a definite need to take a holistic approach, meaning that we have to pay attention to what our bodies are telling us, and realize that our environment, situations, relationships, workplaces, families, nutrition, sleep, habits, socioeconomic issues, and world events all have an effect on us. I'm not robot, and neither are you! I see therapy as a learning process and I teach clients how to understand themselves on a deeper level to bring about personal growth and development. Therapy can also include problem solving, communication skills, new perspectives, finding purpose and meaning, and learning how to move forward in new ways that reflect your core beliefs and values. EFT Tapping, mindfulness, and many other techniques are available to you also! Overall, I'm a very down-to-earth person and enjoy helping my clients feel safe and supported in their therapy session. It's pretty typical for my clients to leave session feeling better and having a sense of direction. As a new client, Grow will have you book an appointment. Please be aware that I will then reach out to you and get you set up with a free 15-20 minute consultation (possibly at a different time) and I will get you onboarded with me and get you scheduled. Or you can streamline this by texting me at 630-716-3939 and let me know that you are a Grow client wanting to schedule a free consultation. Thank you!
