I’m a licensed therapist with over 20 years of experience helping teens, young adults, and families navigate life’s challenges. I specialize in working with anxiety, trauma, substance use, and relationship issues. My approach is supportive, client-centered, and culturally sensitive, helping you develop practical tools to help you move forward with confidence. My goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and more in control of your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll get to know each other and talk about what brings you in. I’ll ask a few questions to understand what you’re dealing with and what you want to work on, but there’s no pressure to share everything right away. We’ll also go over how therapy works and how we can work together to meet your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I think my biggest strengths are being easy to talk to and really listening to what you’re going through. I try to make sure you feel heard and comfortable from the start, and I’m all about meeting you where you are in a non judgmental approach. I’m also pretty flexible—I use different approaches to fit what works best for you. My goal is to help you feel more in control and confident as we work together.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve individuals and families dealing with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, life transitions or just trying to figure things out. I work with clients of all cultural backgrounds, emphasizing the importance of understanding how identity, culture, and personal experiences impact mental health. My goal is to provide therapy that feels both relevant and respectful of each client’s unique journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help teens and adults understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. A lot of people don’t realize how automatic negative thinking can affect their mood, choices, and relationships—CBT helps bring that to light and gives you tools to shift it. In our work together, I’ll help you notice patterns that might be keeping you stuck, and we’ll practice simple, real-world strategies to manage stress, improve your mood, and build healthier habits. I often use CBT to support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and behavior issues.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help teens and young adults manage intense emotions, build healthier relationships, and cope with stress in more effective ways. DBT offers practical tools for handling anxiety, anger, impulsive behavior, and conflict. I often blend DBT skills—like mindfulness, emotional regulation, and communication strategies—into sessions to support real-life change.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

As a mixed race clinician, I approach all my clients using a culturally sensitive lens that integrates an understanding and respect for my clients culture, values and identity to create a safe and inclusive therapeutic environment. I provide culturally sensitive therapy that respects and honors your unique background, identity, and life experiences. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel understood, while helping you build tools for managing stress, trauma, and relationships in a way that aligns with your values.
